LAB SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT 📢

Black and white processing is now live! 🎞️

We are super happy to formally announce this service. You asked and we delivered! 📦

We made the decision to offer this service by hand processing over machine processing for a few key reasons; firstly, to offer a wider range of flexibility and accuracy for the variety of film speeds and formats.

The other was so we can best control the results for your film in the most hands-on way we know. By doing this we get to treat your rolls the same way you would treat them, with care. 🤝

Below is a list of the formats we can, and have already processed since we soft launched this service in December. If you don’t see something in this list and you have a question, please ask!

That’s a wrap on 2025! 🎞️

We’re now closed and will re-open on Monday 5th January (our physical store re-opens on the 6th).

We don’t drop feed posts very often, but we wanted to take a moment to say a genuinely huge thank you to every single one of you for making this our most exciting year yet!

As many of you know, we opened our film lab in spring to ensure Nottingham’s analogue community still had a reliable local base for developing. In just a few short months we’ve:

• Processed thousands of rolls of C-41 film through walk-ins alone, proving that our local photography community is not only thriving, but still growing and very much in need of this service.

• Built a dedicated darkroom to carefully hand-process your black and white film. Hard-launch coming in 2026 🔥

• Collaborated with grassroots groups like and long-standing institutions such as Notts County FC to produce large format exhibition-quality prints from our studio.

And we’ve got a bunch much planned for 2026 🔥

To think we started as a small online camera shop, refurbing cameras in our spare room and are now a fully-fledged bricks-and-mortar film lab, camera store and growing community hub is kind of wild 🤯

It’s an absolute privilege to do what we do. We don’t take that responsibility lightly and we’re massively grateful for your support 🙏

Oh Hey! 👋🏻 So, as some of you may already know - we’ve only gone and opened a Film Lab!” 🎞

For the past few months, we’ve been working our little butts off on a whole bunch of exciting new things:

🎉 Firstly, we’d like to formally welcome Wes / to the team! A face that many of you already know and love - Wes was a lab tech extraordinaire at and we’re stoked to have him join us to manage the new lab at LensFayre HQ.

We’re slowly rolling out services and at the moment we’re offering
✅ C41 developing and scanning
✅Stand alone scanning services
✅Digital printing
✅In-store orders only at the mo, whilst we update our website for mail-ins

We will be rolling out a comprehensive list of services over the coming months and we’ve got more announcements brewing, so keep your eyes peeled on our feed and stories 👀

Lastly, we want to give a big thank everyone that has helped us get this new venture off the ground – we couldn’t have done this without you!

📢 We reckon it’s about time we introduced you to and 👋

Catherine wandered into our shop last August and we haven’t been able to get rid of her since! She’ll be helping us with social media on an ad-hoc basis and we couldn’t be happier!

Joe originally joined us back in the summer of 2023 along with as part of college work-placement scheme. As a natural tinkerer, he’s super keen to learn camera repair, even fixing up his own gear in his mini home workshop! Before heading off to Uni he’ll be assisting with some of the more routine tasks under our Repair & Refurbishment service. If your light seals got a refresh recently, that’s probably Joe’s handiwork!

Please give them a warm welcome – and if you spot their faces here or in store, be sure to show them some love! 🙌

We also want to give a massive shout out to our dear pal who volunteered so much of his time to support us over the last couple of years. And last, but not least a big thanks to for offering a helping hand in your spare time before heading off to Uni last year 🙏

LensFayre are pleased to now officially stock the pixl-latr - an innovative, yet simple solution for digitising your negatives!   The pixl-latr is a multi-format film holder that makes it super quick and easy to get your film photos onto your computer or smart phone👌

Out of the box it will accept 35mm, 120 format and 4x5 film, with a multitude of other, less common, formats available through the pixl-latr website.

We’ve have had the pleasure of using the pixl-latr for a while now and are consistently pleased with the results, helping to produce images that we feel are equal, and in many cases superior, to most consumer grade flatbed film scanners and / or smartphone film negative scanning apps.

According to our website analytics, the US is our 2nd biggest market?!

So it was no surprise that when we listed a near mint, limited edition, ‘City Blue’ Xa2 on our various platforms a few months back, we were flooded with enquiries for shipping it Stateside 🇺🇸

But what was a surprise was that, unbekownst to us, the person we finally sold it to was none other than the curator of the popular Instagram page , (you may have heard of it?!)

Alain recently sent us a few of the photos he shot on his new XA2 - and unsurprisingly again, they’re absolute bangers!🔥🔥🔥

We know a lot of trust goes into deciding to purchase a vintage camera overseas - and we don’t take that responsibility lightly. We’re so grateful to Alain - and all of our customers, near and far, for choosing our little business 🥰
