Behind the scenes from our Do You Remember When shoot with Fostering South West.
It was a fast-moving, full day switching between rooms and outdoor scenes, with our crew running cameras, lighting setups, and capturing every moment on the Sony A7IV and the FX6. Every shot was carefully lit, every angle considered, making sure every scene felt real.
What made the day truly special were the people. Children, parents, and foster carers all bringing warmth, honesty, and moments of genuine connection the kind you can’t stage, only create space for.

A day in the life of a Hundred Hands crew member — Episode One.
This one takes us to Dartmouth, where we spent the day filming for Fostering South West’s latest campaign, Do You Remember When, a project all about the power of nostalgia and the moments that stay with us.

From early setup to final takes, we captured 25 scenes in and around a cosy Airbnb, working with an amazing mix of children, parents, and foster carers who brought warmth, honesty, and plenty of laughter to the day.

Long days, lots of moving parts, and a few light-hearted moments along the way are just another glimpse into how many heads and many hands come together to bring a story to life.

It was a brilliant day! The children brought so much energy, delivering their lines with confidence while having plenty of fun between takes.

Creating a relaxed space where they could just be themselves made all the difference, and you can feel that spirit in every moment we captured.

Our relationship with has been incredible having our director previously worked there as a film teacher made working with children that much smoother.

One of the wettest and windiest days, we found ourselves setting up for interviews inside Tinside Lido. Wind pushing against the glass, waves rolling in, and even the main lift calling it quits more than once.

With the NYA (National Youth Agency), we created a calm, welcoming space inside the storm. It was fantastic to hear the stories from two incredible people experienced in the world of social working.

We got some beautiful interview footage and had some great conversations. The day continued with us filming the NYA’s youth work apprenticeship week event.

How do we do it?

Sometimes it’s as simple as a camera, a light diffuser, and a great team. Every project is an opportunity to build community between our crew, our clients, and the story we’re telling.

Even on a windy day at the beach, we make the most of it, coming up with engaging ways of creating organic movement by playing silly games.

It was definitely a windswept shoot, but we couldn’t have asked for a better day.

10 podcasts filmed, 8 to go!

It’s been an incredible journey so far. We’ve loved every minute of conceptualising, creating, and designing a tailored podcast for

We built a comfortable living room style set, giving our speakers space to share honest, in-depth stories about foster care and the people within the fostering industry. Equal care went into lighting, camera, and audio. Using vintage glass on all our cameras for a cinematic look, selecting the right microphones for crisp, clean sound, and designing a lighting setup that enhances the set we’ve carefully crafted.

The Fostering South West journey continues! We are proud to be part of increasing the pool of foster carers in the South West and hope our videos can make a genuine impact to the community.

"We Tell Your Story" is well underway! We have had the pleasure of working with some amazing people so far!

For those who don't know The Hundred Hands supported by Plymouth Artists Together and Nudge Community, have been funded a £5000 Plymouth Octopus Project - POP+ grant to create a micro doc series all about Plymouth's local community!

On announcement of the project we were approached by so many fantastic non profit organisations, charities and communities. We have finalised our chosen 10 to:

Nudge Community Builders
Plymouth's Artists Together
Plymouth Play Scrapstore
Routeways
The Tree Project
Creative Curiosities SW
The Bread and Roses
The Mindful Art Club
A Waste of Our Time Project
Street Factory

These chosen organisations are having a full micro doc made all about the wonderful work they do in the community of Plymouth. If you would like to be a part of this project in future please get in touch as we plan on continuing this project in a part 2 showing off more of what makes Plymouth so special.

We have a fantastic crew working on this project and we would like to say a massive thank you to all the support we have received so far!

Thank you for taking the time for reading this. I'll be making updates throughout the project with sneak peaks and behind the scenes.

All the best,
Project Manager Drew Graves Film

We are so excited to begin production on the "We Tell Your Story" community campaign!

If you're a member of POP Collectives please head over to the website linked to get us through the final stage of approval.

For all the wonderful organizations and charities who've been in contact (there are so many of you!), we will be replying to all the emails and arranging meetings with every one to see what we can offer. We won't be able to offer full videos to everyone but we will be able to do something for each organization whether it be marketing advice, small photography packages, or part of a video covering multiple organizations.

Warmest Regards,
The Hundred Hands Crew

We Tell Your Story is a community interest campaign which aims to boost the profile of Plymouth community groups & charities with a free, professionally made video.

They're seeking your support for a chance to receive £5,000 from POP Collectives and extended this offer to more local causes!
