Hello everyone - it’s been a while since I’ve done one of these posts!
My name is Michael and I’m a wedding photographer with a candid, timeless approach.
I love photographing weddings because I get to be there for one of the most joyful days of your lives. In the ten years I’ve been doing this, I’ve realised that it’s less about a list of must-have wedding shots and more about capturing all the people, relationships and moments that are so present at wedding days.
Whether you are introverted or extroverted, most couples I work with mention that they don’t love posing or being the centre of attention, and this works really well with my approach. One of the most important things for me is that when you look back at your wedding photos you feel like they capture how the day felt as opposed to remembering a production of orchestrated moments.
On the wedding day I bring a calm energy - I’m all smiles and treat everyone like an old friend. I’ll arrange any formal family photos you’d like, and I’ll blend in with your guests to provide a beautiful record of the rest of your day. When the light is at its best, we’ll go for a stroll around the grounds to capture some relaxed portraits of the two of you with just the right amount of direction from me.
Getting married at Syon Park last year has given me a whole new appreciation for how much work couples put into planning their dream wedding. The truth is that I love helping in any way I can to make your wedding day the best possible day.
I consider myself to be warm, approachable and adaptable on one hand, and organised, discreet and professional on the other. In my spare time I love being in nature, good food and travelling (at this point I’m slightly embarrassed to say that my wife and I have been to Bali seven times). I’ve also recently been getting into gardening, so it was only fitting that Eleanor Dunn Maurer took this photo of me in front of our jasmine!
