Reflecting on May… it was a busy, great month. It started with mountain biking in Glentress, editing a gorgeous holiday let, preparing for minis day mid month and networking.

My mini brand sessions day at a gorgeous hired property was an absolute blast, the business women who’d booked were brilliant, coped with the fast pace of a 30 minute session then stayed to chat and relax with coffee. They even helped out in one shoot! I came away buzzing, happy, tired with loads to edit that I’ve nearly finished and yet to share!

I found time to rewrite and revamp the brand page on my website so it has more info, more personality and hopefully is more compelling. Up next is a new holiday let page this month.

May ended with family camping in the Lakes, paddle boarding and hill walking. Perfect ❤️

A friend had an idea for a bike park, campaigned for by the community, fundraised by the community, designed, built and enjoyed by the community. So she campaigned, fought, organised & brought it to life, and it’s happening! you’re amazing! ❤️👏🏻

It’s taken two years but ground is broken, Vélo Solutions have started work on trail building for . The community of volunteers have held fundraising events, gathered substantial donations of materials and time from local companies and taken part in some early stage volunteer days at the site. It’s amazing what people can do when they have a common interest and goal ❤️

As a school governor & voluntarily running , taking photos is about the limit of what I can volunteer for with the project but I’ll help where I can 😀

The perfect holiday cottage has a feeling to it. You notice it the moment you step inside, it’s different for everyone, but everyone wants to feel they’re getting away from it all and they’re going to enjoy staying there.

There’s something special about a cottage, hut or secret escape that’s been lovingly prepared for guests. The freshly plumped cushions, the soft glow of a lamp in the corner, the tea and biscuits waiting for you. These are the details that make someone feel at home before they’ve even arrived, and they’re exactly what your photos should be showing.

I recently captured photos at Boar Edge Holiday Cottage, Richmond, North Yorkshire in the heart of Richmond. Its new owner wanted photographs she could be proud of. Photographs that truly reflect the care and thought she puts into creating a wonderful guest experience. The goal was to show the mood, gentle light, soft textures and welcoming, cosy character of the cottage. Mission accomplished!

We had one hour before guests arrived. One hour to wander through the rooms, find the light, notice the textures, and let the cottage tell its own story. And that one hour was all we needed.

If you own a holiday cottage, you’ll know how much invisible effort goes into making it perfectly welcoming. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if your photos reflected that? Not just a record of the rooms, but a feeling, the kind that makes someone pause mid-scroll, picture themselves curled up on that sofa, and reach for the booking button.

That’s what I do. And I’d love to do it for your cottage too.

What a truly fantastic day it’s been, I am buzzing! Spending the morning with genuinely lovely women, seeing them invest in themselves, their business and trusting me to capture photographs that tell their business story & show their personalities, well it’s filled my heart with pride and gratitude. I’m so lucky to do a job I love and work with so many fabulous, supportive, interesting and kind people ❤️

A huge thank you to the ladies who showed up today with courage for their shoot and the kindness to support each other and even feature in each other’s photographs! You have made my day ❤️

All photos and videos are downloaded, backed up and ready to edit. I can’t wait for you to see them!

Yesterday I went to visit the beautiful property I’ve hired for my Brand Mini Sessions day next month and I’m so excited!
