A few shots from last nights gathering at the Southam Cricket Club Classic Car & Bike Show, Westfield Road. CV47 0JH. A cracking mix of motors on display, with a strong turnout from the Midland Vehicle Preservation Society adding plenty of variety and nostalgia to the lineup.

Two generations of electric traction within 15 minutes at Cathiron (Rugby) today: first, the box‑fresh and gleaming 93009, Stadler’s advanced tri‑mode mixed‑traffic machine out completing test runs this week. Then along comes 89001 "Avocet", affectionately known as "The Badger", the unique 1986 BREL‑built prototype making its first passenger appearance since 2000 after a thorough refurbishment by Locomotive Services.

A perfect snapshot of Britain’s electric evolution: the future rolling in… followed swiftly by the legend reminding everyone it’s still very much alive.

A few snaps from Sunday at the Brinklow Festival, where the MVPS turned up in force. Cracking turnout, gorgeous motors polished to perfection, lovely folk all round, and weather so good it felt like someone had bribed the Met Office. All in all, the perfect recipe for a top‑notch day out… even if half of us were secretly just there for the ice‑cream van.
