Today I'm editing lovely sunny photos from a family photoshoot at Kew Gardens - whilst ignoring the rain outside. It's actually really rare to get so much rain that I have to cancel a photoshoot, but whenever it does happen rest assured rescheduling is allowed!
But the sun is coming back from Friday with more days of 27 degrees next week - at least the good and bad weather rarely lasts long enough for us to get bored of it!
PS no I was not there for the large family of geese, but they were just too delightful not to include.

Here’s some ways to take photos during the heatwave that let us enjoy the sun, not fight against it. After all, this is the UK, it will soon be gone.

Ice creams melting down little hands.
Running through sprinklers in the garden.
Late evening light stretching across the park.

These are the moments families will remember about summer.

That is why I love photographing families outdoors during summer, even in a heatwave. We slow things down, find shade when we need it, embrace the water fights and ice cream breaks, and use that beautiful golden evening light.

Summer sessions are now open and available to book. There is something so special about photographing families at this time of year.

Sunshine is likely and nature is lush and green, it's picnic season all around. Everyone is getting used to being outside without needing a jumper again!

All those tiny stages of growing up are captured exactly as they are right now. This is the kind of family photography I love most. Real moments, real connection, and all the chaos and magic of growing up wrapped into one gallery.

As a family photographer based in Ruislip, I photograph families across West London and beyond in a natural and relaxed way, creating outdoor family photographs that feel full of life rather than overly posed.

I couldn't resist opening a couple of slots for extra sun photo shoots this week! Well you may have noticed the blazing sun in the sky!

Perfect time to consider an evening shoot at sunset, or an afternoon shoot with a water fight. To take place morning or early evening to capture the gorgeous light and sun but missing the midday heat. I can suggest locations within Ruislip or I'll come to visit you!

One of my favourite parts of being a family photographer is watching families grow over the years. Family life is all about change!

From first birthdays sitting happily on mum and dad’s knee, to being a big brother and woodland adventures.

These are the photographs that become more valuable with time, capturing a real season of family life exactly as it was.

As a family photographer based in Ruislip, I love documenting the chaos and magic of growing up through natural family photography across Hillingdon and surrounding areas. Relaxed outdoor sessions like these give children space to play, cuddle, laugh and simply be themselves.

Some family sessions are full of running, wobbling first steps, grass stained knees and parents trying to keep up with it all. That is exactly the kind of story I love to photograph.

We captured these moments in summery Buckinghamshire parks. Big brother helping little sister balance, tiny hands held tightly, proud smiles, and the happy chaos that comes with little ones discovering the world around them.

No two days look the same, and that is exactly the point
• One minute you are behind the camera, shaping all the energy of children into bold joyful images
• Next you are editing, shaping the final story image by image
• Then it is emails, planning, keeping everything moving
• Followed by marketing, sharing your work so the right people find you

Many different skills and steps to get to the final product - sharing memories for families to keep. I'm always learning new techniques and new tricks in this job!
