The rain had finally stopped and the sun was reflecting mirror images of people on the wet pavements. Vietnamese soldiers suddenly re-appeared from where they'd been shelting from the storm. Their pristine white uniforms glistened in the sun making me squint my eyes as a walked past them.

The drainage system in Hanoi just couldn't cope with the deluge of rain that was beating down upon us. One minute I was walking on a pavement and then the next I was wading through a small river that began meandering its way through streets and shops.
There was a sudden break in the clouds and the humidity went from 0 to 100. My hair was double the size and it was sticking to my wet face as I tried to take this photo.

I have always hated photographing sunsets. They bore me, and 9 times out of 10 they look s**t as a flat image.
So why did I decide to shoot this one? Well, Frank and I were transiting through KL airport and this view just smacked me in the face. It was the most spectacular smoking area I had ever encountered, so I quickly snapped this, thought nothing of it and enjoyed the real thing with a cigarette.
