A great sight for anyone around Portsmouth Harbour tonight, with HMS Queen Elizabeth preparing to leave her home port and head back out to sea.

The carrier is heading out for a busy period of training and operations, working with UK and NATO forces and preparing for further exercises over the coming months. She’ll also be taking on an important role as a NATO command ship during her deployment.

At 65,000 tonnes and 284 metres long, she certainly makes an impression when she heads down the harbour and out towards the Solent!

A big thank you to the Royal Navy for the information.

I honestly can’t quite believe it! What started with simply picking up a camera and capturing the things that caught my eye has grown into something I’m incredibly grateful for. ❤️

So, I thought it was the perfect time to introduce myself, especially for anyone who’s new here.

👋 I’m a 16-year-old photographer from Hampshire, and I’ve loved taking photos from a young age.

📸 I enjoy landscapes, the coast, nature and those little moments that are worth capturing.

I hope you’ve all had a fantastic day! What better way to finish the day than with this gorgeous sunset over the water, with the Brittany Ferries ship perfectly captured in the middle. 🌅⛴️

I’ve been experimenting a little more with my editing recently, trying to bring out those warm sunset colours while still keeping the photo looking natural.
