Born and brought up in London, Rol followed his early years of refining boarding school escapes, by studying at London’s Hornsey College of Art. Later, with graphics up his sleeve and a lens in his hand, he won commissions from the BBC, Royal Shakespeare Company, Design Council, British Tourist Authority, V&A Museum and lectured at Central Saint Martins school of art bla, bla, bla. And now as a re

tired ski coach he’s naturally a lover of snow, fireside fleurie, mountain hot chocolate as well as rampant Rodins, Truffaut and admits to an addiction to Gu. When he’s not strolling through Latin cultures and glimpsing the ghosts of Fellini, Caruso and Caravaggio, he may be hosting or just researching Italian photo weeks. Back home he’s likely to be investigating London and Suffolk photography course locations or planning travel shoots. And when all is done, he’ll be snuggling up to his Nikon.
