We had a lovely, if demanding, walk on the Ashdown Forest again this afternoon.

5K with 400 ft uphill and 400 ft downhill!

We were ready for our meal when we got home.

It was a real rollercoaster ride on Saturday 5th September at New Lodge, home of Billericay Town FC.

'Ricay went 2 up within 39 minutes - Bonne and Long hitting the back of the net. The Wanderers struck back on 43 and 45 minutes through Dawid Rogalski! 2 - 2 at the break.

On 71 minutes, Jack wood put the away side in front with a worldy, curling a left foot shot from just inside the penalty area into the 'keeper's top right corner. You could have understood how that would have seemed to be the winner.

Up pops Frankie Merriefield, to score an equaliser for the team in blue and white. He had only been on the pitch for 3 minutes! 3 - 3.

Off the pitch, I was pleased to meet a Billericay Town legend, Doug Young, who scored a hat-trick at Wembley in 1979 in the Fa Vase Final, when they beat Almondsbury Greenway 4 - 1. Doug was the only player to score a hat-trick in an FA Vase final at the old Wembley Stadium!

Linda and I walked down to the picturesque Colemans Hatch Cricket Club, where they were playing Haywards Heath Cricket Club Sunday Team.

What a wonderful setting for a cricket pitch, in the heart of the Ashdown Forest!

On 15 August 2026, Liz and Ashley said, "I do!" at the wonderful Trading Boundaries.

The venue is a unique setting in the Sheffield Green area of East Sussex and I was excited to shoot my first wedding there. Liz and Ashley were so helpful in the lead up to the big day, meeting Linda and I at Trading Boundaries to discuss their expectations and to give us all an opportunity to go through the timings.

Natalie, the wedding organiser at the venue, was also on hand to ensure that everything on the day would run smoothly!

On the day, Linda and I were all set to capture those special moments throughout the afternoon and into the early evening, culminating in the Ceilidh and first dance.

We travelled the short distance down to The Dripping Pan, the very unique home of Lewes FC.

Their opponents in the Isthmian Premier Division were Eastbourne Borough FC and a very tight match ended 1 - 0 to the Rooks.

The images show The Sports 'keeper unable to keep out a worldy from Noel Fisher and the celebration that followed.
