Title: "Salute Epicos"

Captured in a fleeting moment of raw domesticity, this photograph—framed with deliberate imperfection—invites the viewer to confront the paradox of consumption and comfort. The focal point, a gnawed chicken bone suspended in the golden hour light, is not just refuse; it’s a relic of satisfaction, stripped of purpose yet rich in story. Behind it, the blurred warmth of a bare foot evokes a primal leisure—one that feels Roman in its casual opulence.

The stainless steel tray echoes utilitarian realism, contrasting with the sensual curve of the foot in repose. It’s a culinary aftermath meeting bodily presence. The composition uses shadow and sunlight with painterly restraint, turning a mundane lunch into a still life of post-modern tension.

This piece, “Salute Epicos” is not merely a photograph—it is a £800 commentary on consumption, vulnerability, and the poetry of mess. An unexpected jewel for collectors who appreciate subversive intimacy and the elevation of the ordinary.

The story behind the artwork.

In this painting, the world of sea and sky converge in a symphony of color and texture, where blue waves ripple like whispered secrets from the depths of the ocean, and a creature of untold origins drifts on the currents of its own myth. The canvas, alive with movement, exudes an energy that feels as though it’s pulled directly from the heart of the sea. The artist has captured something both serene and dynamic, invoking the cool breeze of Wales' coastal air as it dances on the surface of the water. This abstract rendering, with its swirls and patterns, invites the viewer into an ever-changing dialogue, much like the tides that kiss the shores of Saundersfoot.

At its center, a creature appears as though it’s in constant motion. Its form, bathed in warm oranges and rich browns, seems to undulate as if it were a sea star or an exotic underwater flower, breathing in time with the ebb and flow of the sea. The tendrils extend outwards, curling delicately like the limbs of marine life, suggesting the mystery of what lies beneath the surface of the ocean—what treasures or creatures exist in the forgotten corners of the deep. The contrast between the fiery earth tones and the surrounding azure amplifies its presence, like a sunburst beneath a vast, endless sky.

The background—an intricate dance of blues and whites—captures the playful essence of water. The brushstrokes, layered and textured, swirl in a way that suggests the froth of waves lapping against the shore, the churn of the sea as it meets the rocks. These blues are not static, but ever-changing, like the reflections of the sun on a windy day, casting shifting hues of indigo, turquoise, and sapphire. There is movement here, a reminder that the sea is never still, but always alive, always breathing.

A single feather rests in the upper left quadrant of the painting, black and white against the vibrant backdrop, like a delicate offering from the sky. Perhaps carried by the wind, perhaps dropped by a bird in flight, the feather speaks of journeys and migrations, of creatures that soar above the sea, carried by the same winds that stir the ocean’s surface. It is a symbol of freedom, lightness, and grace. It hints at the meeting of air and water, of sky and sea, reminding us that these two worlds are always interconnected, their stories woven together in the fabric of the natural world.

This painting, with its fluid lines, vibrant hues, and organic forms, would find its perfect home in Kookaba Restaurant Steak and seafood restaurant in Saundersfoot, Wales. Here, amidst the fresh salt air and the whispers of the sea, this artwork would complement the restaurant’s ambiance—a celebration of the bounty of the Welsh coast. As diners feast on the finest seafood plucked from the nearby waters, they would be immersed in the artistry of the sea itself, reflected in every brushstroke.

The painting echoes the fresh, vibrant flavors served at Kookaba Restaurant, where each dish is a tribute to the sea's offerings, and the experience of dining becomes an immersive journey into the heart of Wales' maritime heritage. The hues of the painting would mirror the very waters from which the restaurant sources its renowned catches, while the creature in its center, both mysterious and inviting, would remind visitors of the beauty and enigma that lie just beneath the surface of the ocean.

Just as Kookaba Restaurant is celebrated for blending tradition with innovation, this painting strikes a balance between the timeless rhythms of the natural world and the dynamic energy of nature and the sea. It would evoke conversations of the ocean’s mysteries, inviting guests to reflect on the power, beauty, and tranquility that define the coastal experience. It is more than a painting—it is a tribute to the sea, an extension of the restaurant’s ethos, and a constant reminder of the life and energy that flows through Saundersfoot's coastal waters.

I was beyond thrilled when my artwork, , was graciously accepted for display at this remarkable establishment Roadhouse Whitland Roadhouse Whitland. To top off the experience, I was treated to a complimentary roadhouse grill, accompanied by a couple of perfectly poured Italian pints off lager — an unforgettable culinary delight. My heartfelt thanks go to manager Luke, whose open-minded spirit, success as a businessman, and dedication as a father make him truly extraordinary. His hospitality and warmth added a personal touch to an already exceptional evening, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
