"Spiralling into A Week!"

Another little rocket‑rise with rotation from the other day — nothing wild, just me stood on a bridge over the stream in Princess Anne’s Park, trying to keep the drone steady and my face looking less confused than usual 😅

I wanted to say I might be taking a small break for a few days. I haven’t felt very creative or social lately, and my mental health’s been needing a breather.

Thank you so much for the continued support — genuinely. I’m really grateful for everyone who sticks around, even when I need to step back for a moment.
More bits will come once I’ve had a chance to reset and get inspired again 💛

"It's My Freakin' Birthday! 😱

Kicked off the celebration by heading out with the drone again yesterday — because if I’m gonna start another year older, I might as well start it doing something that scares me and makes me grin like an idiot. 😁

Still getting used to the manual controls on the phone, still looking like a deer in headlights… but honestly, I’m weirdly proud of it. Progress is progress, even if it’s chaotic 🤣

Creativity’s been hiding from me lately, but getting outside and messing about with the drone felt like the right way to start another year older. Here’s to more learning, more exploring, and more pretending I know what I’m doing. 😅

"The Windy‑Day Drone Shenanigans"

Me and Tom took the Neo 2 out to Herrington Park today — the woods behind Penshaw Monument — and somehow ended up filming what feels like a mini‑movie. The drone was battling the wind like it had something to prove, but the shots still came out unreal: a helix drifting through the trees, a rocket spiral blasting upward, a smooth glide, another spiral dropping back down, and a final circle shot with Penshaw Monument standing proud in the background.

Tom spent half the day waving his hands around like a Jedi using gesture controls, and honestly… it worked. Proper fun, proper chaos, proper magic.

"Not So James Bond: Licence to Look Confused" 😵‍💫

I was running through the Neo 2’s flight modes the other day — fully focused, fully serious, fully “do NOT crash this tiny aircraft.”

Meanwhile the drone clearly had other plans… because it snapped this top‑down shot of me looking like I’m performing brain surgery on my phone.

Didn’t even realise I’d taken it, but honestly? It’s become one of my favourite pics. Nothing like a drone catching you in your “pilot concentration stance” while you’re trying to act like you know exactly what you’re doing.

"One Last Wander Before the Revamp (Part One)

I’m really glad I managed to squeeze in a visit to Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens last week — especially with tomorrow being its final day before closing for a couple of years of refurbishment. Perfect timing, even if I didn’t realise it at the time.

After my wander through the Winter Gardens, I had a quick look around the museum itself. I’ll be honest… I rushed it. It was hotter than expected, I was melting, and the idea of getting back home won the battle. 🤣
But even in a quick lap, there’s something special about walking through an old museum that’s been part of the city for generations.

It is definitely ready for a facelift — some of the displays are showing their age — but that’s part of the charm too.
😅
And at least it’s coming back, refreshed and modernised, ready for future generations to explore. Feels good knowing I caught it right before the doors close for the big transformation.

~ Historical Plague Series — Fawcett Street Station (1853–1879) ~

Quick stop on Burdon Road during last week’s Sunderland wander — plaque hunting, museum trip, Winter Gardens. Opposite the War Memorial sits this plaque and old fountain marking the entrance to Fawcett Street Station, once the terminus of the Penshaw Branch Line.

Opened in 1853, closed when Central Station took over in 1879. A tiny surviving reminder of Sunderland’s early railway life tucked right into the wall.

Took the Neo 2 out for a spin and it turns out the drone has more confidence than I do. 😅

Here’s a little orbit of me standing absolutely rigid, like I’m waiting for a school photo. 🤣

“Inside the Glass Jungle: Sunderland’s Winter Garden Adventure”

After last week’s quiet wander around Mowbray Park, I headed into the Winter Gardens — but not before treating myself to an ice‑cold Fanta from the Museum café. No matter how many times I visit, the place still feels like a mix of nostalgia and surprise.

Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens go right back to the 1800s, part of the city’s Victorian push to bring culture and a bit of tropical wonder to the public. The current dome, reopened by Her Majesty The Queen in 2002, keeps that spirit alive: compact, bright, and packed with greenery.
