The Bradford Club, a historic institution in Bradford, has closed its doors after more than 250 years. The closure, which occurred recently, is attributed to declining patronage and a shift in social habits. The Grade II-listed building is being sold, with plans to repurpose it.

The club’s closure is primarily due to a decline in membership and a change in social customs. The once-thriving club, where business deals were sealed and discussions held, saw its dining room and other spaces empty as its traditional clientele shifted their habits.
The Bradford Club, established in 1761, was one of the last remaining Victorian gentleman’s clubs in a provincial city. It played a role in the city’s social and business life, particularly during the height of the wool trade.
