My soul is stirring, it is time to descend upon Whitby for World Dracula Day, on Tuesday 26th May.

It is an honour to celebrate my biographer Bram Stoker and the publication of my story, Dracula in 1897. Through his gothic mastery, I have been granted a second eternity among you.

You may find me atop the 199 steps, wandering the Abbey, or taking a table at your harbour establishments. Approach me! Ask of Transylvania, eternal life, young Bram... or where I enjoy a 'bite'.

Happy World Goth Day 🖤

Tomorrow I’ll be heading to Leeds to photograph the incredible Gothica takeover (Leeds Festival of Gothica) at Leeds City Museum, a full day celebrating gothic culture, music, literature, art, history and the beautifully dark community that keeps it alive.

As somebody who has lived and breathed goth culture since my teens, events like this mean a lot. Not just the music or the fashion, but the people, the creativity, the feeling of belonging and the reminder that being different has always been something worth celebrating.

From gothic talks and live music to DJs, markets, poetry, architecture walks and alternative culture filling the museum halls, this looks set to be something really special.
