While exploring the boggy bit on the walk down the greenway I found these wonderful plants. After consulting my Nan she assured me they where Lysichiton Americanus (skunk cabbage) and when you look at the leafs they do look like something from a cabbage! I researched them a bit more and found they are sometimes called swamp lanterns, this is a much nicer name than skunk cabbage! They did indeed stand out in the swampy area as yellow lanterns!

Hopping streams and walking through bogs. This is part of my Shoreburs greenway project, exploring the greenway between the urban environment. I think this sums up urban green areas very well in England.

Within the beauty you will most likely see some sort of rubbish.

The greater the distance, the clearer the view: one sees the tiniest of details with the utmost clarity. It is as if one were looking through a reversed opera glass and through a microscope at the same time. And yet, says Browne, all knowledge is enveloped in darkness. What we perceive are no more than isolated lights in the abyss of ignorance, in the shadow-filled edifice of the world. I was reading this today and found it really interesting so I thought I would share it. I also captured this amazing tree and branch structure in the woods on my walk down the greenway mentioned in my previous post.

This is my absolute favourite way to shoot. Photographing scenes which are devoid of emotion and portraying what is there very literally. Nothing excites me more than a view of a structure which is straight on with lines, sections and lovely geometry.

One of the benefits of covid has definitely been pushing creativity in local areas. I would have never imagined that walking around Sholing would inspire my photography in this way and allow me to capture these beautiful scenes! Believe it or not but these are the natural colours I was seeing, I have done minimal editing on this. Well worth the morning walk!
