"Toboli" (also known as "Dzedzevi") is a treasured traditional African lullaby from the Ewe (Eʋe) people, whose rich cultural heritage spans Ghana, Togo, Benin, and parts of Nigeria. Renowned for their vibrant storytelling, rhythm, and musical artistry, the Ewe have passed down songs like this through generations, preserving love, language, and tradition.
According to oral tradition, this beautiful lullaby was lovingly composed in the 1990s by an Ewe mother from Ghana's Volta Region to comfort her crying baby. With its gentle melody and heartfelt lyrics, "Toboli" has since become a cherished bedtime song, bringing peace and warmth to countless children and families.
In this special Abibigro Kids adaptation, we've reimagined this timeless classic with vibrant animation, joyful characters, and a magical African dreamscape while honoring the heart and beauty of the original song. Our hope is to introduce a new generation of children around the world to the richness of African culture, one beautiful story at a time.
