Tasmin's Toy Box Toys are best shared.... Being able to externalise our own thinking as adults demonstrates to children that we are all, in fact, learners as well.

At Tasmin’s Toy Box we believe Early Years Education is an essential foundation to a child’s future learning not only with developing their motor, cognitive, social, emotional and language development but to facilitate their life long learning skills. Influenced by Freire’s educational philosophy proposing that teachers learn with students, avoiding the paternalistic approach of believing they kno

w it all. Heavily influenced by the Emilia Reggio approach, we create a relaxed, respectful and fun learning environment offering encouragement and praise. Naughty does NOT exist in our vocabulary. We look at the whole child when designing our class curriculum and lesson plans, making them relevant to our daily life. Our lessons are activity based as we believe ‘doing’ is the best method of learning, tend to be open ended with no right or wrong and encouraging class discussion. Although we don’t officially give homework, parent involvement would be most beneficial to children’s learning. A portfolio of photos and artwork is created for each child as, we believe, one of the accurate ways to assess and really view a child’s development as well as a wonderful keepsake of the child’s time with us.
