OMG. Forget what I said about this trip going through DFW not being being a clustercluck.

I flew into terminal D and was scheduled to fly out of terminal A. Luckily OMW there I checked and found out that my flight was scheduled to leave from gate B5 (terminal terminal B.) When checking the status of the flight, the app had updated it to gate B9...!? OMW to gate B9 I checked the departures board and now the gate had been changed to gate C20. I walked over and under highways, checking every 2 departure boards OMW to gate C20; I have walked more than 3 miles today even though I have been mostly sitting all day. Flight boards in 27 minutes, delayed 45 minutes... so far. 🙄

I misspoke before. I didn't fly into Houston Houston, but into DFW, where I have been—once, more than 25 years ago. And *that* flight has now been delayed aa well, as the incoming flight waa delayed and they had to find another plane. F'ing Uber knew it was delayed before it even showed up on the app. Of course they not only changed the gate, but they changed the terminal as well; luckily I had the presence of mind (such as it is) to check.

This airport is like a city, but not in a cool way like Atlanta's airport—like in a hot, sprawling urban way. And although I had to jump through some unnecessary hoops because because an airport employee gave me incorrect information, it wasn't a clustercluck like Miami. But it involves several more *hours* of flying. 😬

Walking to and from getting breakfast... and not wanting to leave. 😭

You can see the clouds move if you use the sailboat as a reference point.

Ugh. If I had left for the water taxi (walking, dragging a 45 # suitcase, a carry-on, and my laptop with a jacket draped through the strap, wearing jeans, a t-shirt and a f***y pack with my metal water bottle carbinered to it) from the condo 5 minutes earlier—it's only about 2 short blocks, I wouldn't have been caught in a freaking downpour and gotten soaked. The jacket that is supposed to keep me warm on the plane is made of the same fabric as a sweatshirt, i.e., it is absorbent AF and therefore therefore heavy and wet; even my underwear is wet. TMI, I know. 😭 A man on the beach carried my luggage ½-way there, so I gave him the money that I *should* have spent on a taxi.

Oh, and my plane is delayed due to weather although the sun is shining. This is why I always torture myself with long layovers. I'm flying into Houston—never been there—and have to navigate navigate security, passport control control and getting to another another terminal after very little sleep last night.

Picture of the Sprinter, the water taxi that I did *not* take.
