One of the purest joys of traveling is going off the beaten track, where people do not speak English, and where locals do not expect to see tourists.
This picture is on the Montenegrin side of lake Skadar a few kilometers away from the Albanian borders.

We were lucky to spend a night in one of those houses by the lake. The hotel owner didn't expect a non native speaker which made our communication a bit interesting. Luckily he knew a few Italian words which we could use to secure a meal after a long day.

I'll be sharing more stories from our trip to the Balkans.
