Rybakina Withdraws from Washington!

World No. 2 Elena Rybakina has officially withdrawn from the Mubadala Citi DC Open 2026 (WTA 500).

After a grueling tour schedule, Rybakina has decided to take a break to rest and fully recover. She is also managing lingering discomfort in her right hip and wants to be cautious.

Skipping Washington (July 27-Aug 2) is part of her strategy to return at 100% for the Canadian National Bank Open and the rest of the US Open Series.

Mirra Andreeva is officially set to compete at the Mubadala Citi DC Open 2026 (WTA 500) in Washington, D.C.

The hard-court tournament at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center will take place July 27 - Aug 2, 2026, featuring a 28-player singles draw in its 14th women's edition.

Andreeva (19), the reigning 2026 French Open champion, has entered the main draw as one of the top stars. The event is a key opener of the US Open Series.

Defending champion Leylah Fernandez returns, joined by Jessica Pegula, Naomi Osaka & Elina Svitolina on the entry list.

Iva Jovic withdraws from Mubadala Citi DC Open 2026!

The 18-year-old American World No.16 has pulled out of the WTA 500 in Washington (July 27 - Aug 2) due to injury, despite a direct main draw entry. Her spot will be taken by Poland's Magdalena Frech (28, World No.43).

She becomes the third big name to withdraw after Jasmine Paolini and Marta Kostyuk. A huge loss as Jovic is on fire this year: QF Australian Open & R4 Wimbledon 2026.

Washington Showdown: The Only Combined ATP & WTA 500 is Back!

Washington is set to sizzle! The Mubadala DC Open 2026 will take place July 25 - August 2 at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center. As the world's only combined ATP 500 & WTA 500 event, it is the crucial curtain-raiser for the US Open Series.

Oleksandra Oliynykova stormed into the quarterfinals of the IASI Open 2026 with a commanding 6-1, 6-2 win over Elena Pridankina.

The Ukrainian was dominant on serve with 71% first serves in and 69% points won on first serve. She was ruthless on return, converting 7 of 14 break points and winning 32 return points with a 9-point streak, while Pridankina struggled with 6 double faults.

Oleksandra Oliynykova advances to the IASI Open 2026 semifinals.

In the quarterfinal at Center Court, the 3rd seed from Ukraine defeated Clara Burel of France 6-4, 7-5. It was a tight match, Oliynykova posted 74% first serve and 9/15 break points, better than Burel's 61% and 7/12.

She led with 83 total points to 72, including 52 return points and a best streak of 6. Despite 4 double faults, she closed with 13 games won to secure the semifinal ticket.

Paula Badosa Advances to the IASI Open 2026 Semifinals.

Paula Badosa booked her place in the IASI Open 2026 semifinals after defeating fifth seed Panna Udvardy 6-4, 7-6(7) in a hard-fought quarterfinal on Center Court.

Although Udvardy posted a higher first-serve percentage (68%), Badosa proved more clinical in the key moments. The Spaniard fired 5 aces, won 69% of points on her second serve, and finished with an 87-79 advantage in total points, highlighting her composure under pressure.

With another confident performance, Badosa continues her impressive run and now looks ahead to the semifinal with growing momentum.
