Chasing Turtles @ The Gili's.

The Gili Islands are a small, stunning group of 3 islands located off the coast of Lombok, Indonesia. These islands—Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air—are known for their crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches, and laid-back vibe, making them a popular destination for travelers seeking a tropical paradise.
None of the islands have motorized vehicles, so transportation is typically by bicycle or horse-drawn carriage, adding to their charm.

During this trip, we had spent a few days in Gili Meno and Gili Air. We decided to skip Gili T as we preferred somewhere quieter with less crowd.

Tumpak Sewu, also known as Coban Sewu, is a tiered waterfall located in East Java, Indonesia. Its name is loosely translated to mean "a thousand waterfalls" in Javanese and is definitely one of the most beautiful and amazing waterfalls we’ve ever seen.

Standing proudly in the heart of Borneo, Mount Kinabalu stands as a sentinel over the lush landscapes of Sabah, Malaysia. Measuring 4,095 meters tall, it’s the highest peak in Southeast Asia.

High altitudes bring breathtaking views, but they also come with unique challenges!

I was suffering from a slight altitude sickness since the night before, feeling nauseous and having no appetite to consume food nor drinks. We had acclimatization in mind when we decided to stay a night at Kinabalu Park (1,866m). That didn't help. It got worse when we reached the base camp (3,272m). I immediately went to bed, after a super light meal, hoping to sleep it off. We then had a decision to make at 130am when we woke up on summit day. After some deliberation, the decision was to attempt it since we were already more than halfway there. This explains the slow pace of us hiking up the summit.

The decision paid off. We managed to reach the peak of the mountain that is a symbol of inspiring natural beauty and adventure around the region.

We woke up at 2am (again) to chase another sunrise. The view here was indeed out of this world, looking like something out of a sci-fi movie shot in outer space. Watch it all here.

Our 4x4 jeep then took us on an adventure through the sea of sand to get to the volcano crater. After a short hike, we got up close and personal with live volcano, hearing its roar and seeing / smelling its fumes. What an amazing experience…
