Finishing up our September theme of food photography. Last night our members brought a variety of food and props for a freeform workshop. Putting into practice our learnings and inspiration from last week's amazing presenter Fiona Tait of The Gourmet Lens. We enjoyed learning from each other almost as much as eating all food at the end 😉!

Our members had a fantastic time last night welcoming the incredibly talented Fiona Tait of The Gourmet Lens as our guest presenter! 🎉 Fiona, a renowned, Kinsale based food, lifestyle and product photographer, shared her expertise and passion with us, showcasing her stunning work and theory behind capturing the perfect shot.

The highlight of the evening was Fiona’s demonstration of how to stage a professional food photography scene. And, of course, we all enjoyed a slice of the mouthwatering cake she baked!! 🍰📷 We can't wait to put what we've learned into practice at our Food photography practice workshop next week!

A huge thank you to Fiona for an inspiring and delightful presentation. Check out her incredible work on her website https://thegourmetlens.com and follow her on Instagram for a taste of her delicious photography.

Last week the club welcomed chair of Blackwater Photographic Society and national and international award winning photographer Kieran O Mahony to the club to present a wide selection of digital and printed images including landscape, seascapes, wildlife, portrait and street from around the world. Our members learned how to build a panel for competitions, creative editing and posing techniques for portraits and wildlife field craft. To name just a few! A truly inspirational presentation. Thanks again Kieran :)!

This evening the Clockhouse Nurseries Plant Emporium very kindly opened their doors to the Ballincollig Camera club for an evening of macro and flower photography. Experienced members helped others with technical techniques and gave opportunity to experiment with their macro lenses. A great fun learning experience all round. Cannot wait to see everyone's images!

Special thank you to our member Valerie Sheehan for organizing.

This evening our members welcomed long time friend of the club Jim Mc Sweeney for a showcase of his amazing wildlife and macro photography. He passed on his experience on gear, composition, field craft and the finer details that go into award winning images like below. Some inspiration for our May club competition theme... "Nature". And upcoming outing for flower / macro photography. A big thank you Jim!
