If there is one image that sums up a Christmas in Ireland for photographers, it’s this one: the iconic red glow of Temple Bar 📸🎅, festive reindeer on the roof, and a sea of umbrellas navigating the rain ☔✨

Crossing Dublin’s “Little Central Park” in its peak autumn glow

There is a specific energy to St. Stephen’s Green in November that feels exactly like a cinematic stroll through Manhattan 🗽. We often call it Dublin’s “Little Central Park”. I It’s the vibrant, green lung we use to cross from one end of the city to the other while escaping the stone and noise 🏙️🌿.

For photographers, the leading lines of the Victorian paths under a golden canopy are a dream 📸✨. For families, it’s a necessary pit-stop to let the kids marvel at the lake before finishing your errands 🦆🧒.

A bit of local history: While it feels like it’s been here forever, the park was actually private until 1877, when Sir Arthur Guinness (Lord Ardilaun) pushed to open it to the public so every Dubliner could enjoy it 🍺📜.

Most famously, during the 1916 Rising, a ceasefire was called every single day just so the park warden could safely feed the ducks 🦆🕊️

What’s your favorite spot for autumn leaves in Dublin? 🍂

Have you ever been to a place that smells like old paper and magic? 👇 ✨

If the Old Library at Trinity College is on your bucket list, here is the exact timeline you need to know for your 2026 trip planning. 🇮🇪✈️

It is NOT closed (yet). But it is changing.

👇Here is what you need to know:
1. The “Vanishing” Books 📚 You might notice empty shelves in my photos. The “Old Library Redevelopment Project” is underway. They are currently moving hundreds of thousands of precious books to safety for conservation.
For my fellow photographers out there, don’t view the empty shelves as a flaw; view them as a unique opportunity to see the 18th-century “naked” architecture of the barrel-vaulted ceiling without the visual clutter.

2. The Timeline (Save This) 🗓️
NOW – Late 2027: The Long Room remains OPEN. You have about 2 years left to walk these floors before the doors lock.
Late 2027 – 2030: The building is projected to CLOSE for ~3 years for major restoration works.

Don’t wait until 2027 when the “last chance” rush happens.

We are witnessing a huge investment in Irish heritage. Your ticket today helps fund this preservation so it can last another 400 years.

📸 Photo Tip: Since you can’t use a tripod, use the wooden pillars to stabilize your camera for a crisp shot in low light.
* Settings: ISO 800, f/2.8, 1/60sec.
* Edit: I used my Lightroom travel preset pack to keep those warm, cinematic tones.

One lesson I’ve learned as an expat in Ireland: Never trust the forecast, just chase the light. ✨

That chase led me to Skerries, and wow.😍🌅

If you are planning a trip to Ireland, add Skerries to your list for a quieter, stunning sunset spot just outside Dublin.

It hits different when you feel like you’ve discovered a secret spot. 🗝️🌇🇮🇪

This town is a must-visit if you want to see where the locals actually go to unwind.

Stunning harbour, great food, and views for days.

Who is adding this to their Ireland bucket list? 📝✈️💛

St. Stephen’s Green gets all the glory, but the Iveagh Gardens has my heart. 🌿

It’s been nearly a year since I added a drone to my kit, and it’s completely changed how I tell the story of this city. There is something undeniably cinematic about seeing this spot from above, seeing the geometry of that 1865 design tucked away between the office blocks.

The aerial view captures the vibe in a way my handheld camera just can’t; it shows just how much of a sanctuary this place really is. A hidden patch of green in a sea of grey.

Where is your go-to “quiet spot” in your city? 👇

I found a slice of California right here in Ireland 🌲🇮🇪

I’ve visited Powerscourt before, but I admit, I never realized what I was missing until today. We decided to explore the whole garden this time, and it was a total surprise.

Did you know this place was voted the third best garden globally by National Geographic and is home to the tallest trees in Ireland?

Standing under the giant Sequoias immediately took me back to my time at Sequoia National Park in California. It’s rare to find that kind of scale here.

Beyond the giants, the Japanese Garden is currently peaking for Autumn. The mix of fiery reds and the massive green canopy is honestly a photographer’s dream right now. ( More photos coming soon)

📝 The Practical Details:

Time: Give yourself at least 2 hours (we did the full loop with our two kids).
Gear: Wear comfortable walking shoes—seriously. This place is huge.
Verdict: A hidden gem within a well-known spot. Highly recommend.

Save this post for your next trip in Ireland! 📌

Dublin’s Silicon Docks are unrecognizable! As a local, it’s amazing how these sleek, modern high-rises,home to giants like Google, have become the city’s new architectural heart. For a travel photographer, this area is a goldmine.

📸 Photography Tip: Look for the reflections of the glass buildings in the canal waters, especially at Golden Hour. The clean lines are perfect for minimalist compositions. Use a wide-angle to capture the scale!

📍 Location Scout: Start at the Samuel Beckett Bridge and head toward Grand Canal Square for the best shots.

🦌 Phoenix Park Rutting Season📸

One show I do not miss since a few year. If you want to see some serious action with the Fallow Deer in Phoenix Park, you gotta visit between mid-October and early November.

That’s when it’s rutting season—the big boys (bucks) are showing off and locking antlers. It’s truly wild!

⚠️ Safety Check!
these guys are pumped full of testosterone and can be aggressive. Keep your distance (at least 50m!) and never, ever feed them. ❌They’re wild animals, so just give them their space!

📸New Gear Alert! 🤩
To get those close-up shots safely, I’m thrilled with my new glass: the Sony 70-350mm f/4.5-6.3 G OSS.

This thing is an absolute beast! super powerful zoom but still small enough to chuck in your travel bag. It’s the perfect travel buddy! Full review coming soon.

What do you do when the Dublin rain is absolutely pouring?

You dive into a world of fun and trickery! 🌀

We spent a super entertaining hour at the newly opened Museum of Illusions Dublin , and it was the perfect escape from the weather.

Seriously good fun! It’s super interactive, and the staff were incredibly helpful, guiding us on the best poses to keep the illusions totally believable. They absolutely nailed the illusions In all the rooms.

A fantastic way to kill an hour indoors, whether you’re with family, your partner, or a group of friends!

The kids absolutely loved it!

Just a heads up for fellow rainy-day visitors: there’s no cloakroom, so we had to carry all our damp jackets around, which wasn’t ideal. But honestly, it didn’t dampen the experience one bit!

Highly recommend a visit. ✨
