From the very beginning, the planning process felt so personal. He took the time to get to know us, helped us narrow down locations, and made thoughtful recommendations based on what we wanted our day to feel like rather than just taking us to the most beautiful places. His experience and knowledge of Northern Ireland made planning from abroad feel effortless.
We spent over six hours together, from the end of getting ready through our ceremony, a beautiful luxury picnic, and then exploring some of the most breathtaking locations in Northern Ireland for portraits. By the end of the day, it honestly felt like we had spent the day with a friend.
We absolutely lucked out with the weather. It was one of those rare, picture perfect Irish days with endless sunshine, and even Rob commented on how unusual it was! I know he’s much more accustomed to photographing couples under cloudy skies or in the rain, but he handled the bright sun flawlessly. Every single photo is stunning, and somehow he turned the challenging lighting into something that looked effortless.
Not only is Rob incredibly talented, but he’s calm, patient, and makes you feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. Neither of us are naturals when it comes to posing, but he gave just enough direction while still allowing us to be ourselves. The photos never feel stiff or forced—they feel authentic.
One of my favorite memories happened after all of the portraits were finished. Instead of simply saying goodbye, Rob took us to one of his favorite local pubs, where we got to step behind the bar and pour our own Guinness. We ended the evening sitting together over drinks, talking and laughing about the day. It was such a genuine, unexpected experience that perfectly summed up who Rob is—not just an incredible photographer, but someone who truly cares about the couples he works with.
When I look through our gallery, I don’t just see beautiful photographs—I relive every emotion from that day. Rob captured our elopement more beautifully than I ever imagined possible, and I will be grateful forever. If you’re considering booking him, don’t hesitate.
