Japfest is back … and it’s a lot sooner than you think 👀 That’s right, the 2024 edition of Japfest, Ireland’s largest JDM themed car show, touches down in Mondello Park on Sunday, April 28th this year with some incredible changes, one of the main ones being the show taking place a much brighter and warmer time of year 😎☀️

Following an unforgettable event in 2023, we’ve decided to shake things up to make Japfest even more exciting with some amazing new attractions for everyone to enjoy. As usual, you’ll be able to enjoy an epic array of over 400 modified Japanese cars on display, with new themed car areas and even the return of the JDM-inspired area as well adding to the already incredible show.

However on top of the usual Japfest car show, this year we’ve also decided to bring in an all-new live-action arena with the help of our good friends Drift Games & Juicebox! This all-new arena will see Juicebox and Drift Games go head to head in all sorts of challenges, from best burnouts to who can pull off the best rings … LAD. The arena will also be your first chance to see Neil from Juicebox’s AE86 after a 7 year rebuild and also your first opportunity to see Drift Games’ insane 2JZ Liberty Walk Lamborghini shredding some tyres. What’s not to love?! 😍

But that’s not all! On track we’ll have the opening round of the 2024 Irish Drift Championship - The championship’s 20th anniversary season - with some incredible drivers battling it out to see who can take first blood in the championship fight. And of course, you’ll also be able to explore the wide array of trade stands and food stalls to keep you entertained and feed throughout the entire day.

A message from Focus Ireland about last years Toy Drive appeal❗️

“Last year’s toy drive had a profound and positive effect on 100’s of families experiencing homelessness. While Christmas is often painted as a time of joy and celebration, for many families it is a source of stress and anxiety. This is particularly true in emergency accommodation. Parents wonder if they will be able to afford presents for their children, can they provide a magical experience and find some joy in their precarious situation. Children wonder if Santa will find them. The generosity of the donations received serve to alleviate some of these worries. The joy and relief that children in emergency accommodation feel when they wake up to find that Santa has been is incredibly significant. It helps them to feel like they have not been forgotten.
One of the most profound effects of family homelessness on children is the difficulty to have a ‘normal’ childhood. They often live in one room with all of their belongings, they cannot have friends over to visit. Many times, they have to move far away from where they were originally living and therefore can lose contact with friends and social outlets. This is very confusing to a child. The toy donations help to let kids feel ‘normal’ again. Santa has come to visit them like every other boy and girl. They are no different. This is the true impact of your generosity. It is not so much about the gifts, but it is an opportunity for children to feel just like everyone else, not special or lucky, just normal. Ultimately that is what kids of all ages want.
