Artemis II: A Gentle Voyage Beyond Earth 🚀✨

Inspired by NASA’s Artemis II mission, this illustration captures the wonder of space exploration through a soft, character-driven lens ( featuring RISE ) .
While creating this piece, I followed the mission closely watching live streams, tracking the journey, and keeping up with updates across the ten days which made the process feel especially immersive and personal.
I wanted to blend the scale and beauty of space with a sense of calm, curiosity, and quiet adventure. 🌍

These illustrations (1st and last images) and photos (taken by me ) is a personal response to the approved redesign of St Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre in Dublin.
I felt a strong need to speak on something that genuinely matters to me.
As a visual communicator, I believe design has the power not only to create new ideas, but also to protect what already exists. These illustrations and photos were created to highlight the unique character and atmosphere of the building from its glass roof and central clock to its ornate ironwork and warm lighting. These are the details that give the space its identity something that cannot simply be recreated through modern design.
To me, this isn’t just a shopping centre it’s one of the most beautiful spaces in Dublin. It holds a charm and elegance that feels timeless, and it’s part of what draws people in and makes the city feel distinctive.
This work doesn’t oppose change entirely, but it questions the idea that everything needs to be modernised. Some places already are what they’re meant to be. They hold cultural and emotional value that goes far beyond function or aesthetics.
As a designer, I love creating new things but not at the cost of something this special.
There is a warmth and character in this building that makes it meaningful not just for locals, but for anyone who experiences it.
This post acts as both a visual tribute and a quiet protest encouraging the preservation of one of Dublin’s most distinctive architectural spaces.
Preserve it. Don’t replace it.
