Iam a photographer.
For my entire life I have looked at the world through a lens.Light and shadow. Faces and stories.Photography teaches you something simple and absolute: every human life has the same value.
Today I live between Milan and Israel.
And in these years, while spending long months in hospitals, I have had a lot of time to think about what truly matters. When life slows down, the truth becomes very clear.
War is the greatest failure of humanity.
We speak about it through politics, borders, strategies and power. But war is not an idea.
War is a mother afraid for her child.War is a night broken by sirens.War is the silence that follows destruction.
And too often, war has the eyes of children.
Children should belong only to the future. Not to fear. Not to hatred. Not to war.
I am not writing these words to accuse anyone.I write them because after a lifetime spent observing the human condition, one truth remains undeniable:
The freedom to live is the most sacred right we have.
And if humanity loses the courage to defend that simple truth, then we lose something far greater than any conflict.
We lose ourselves.
