Find your own aesthetic.

Be brave.

Wear what you love and wear it with confidence.

Those are the secrets to style.

I photographed this young man when I was at in Montreal. He was working the entrance.

After years of wanting to visit, I finally managed to, on my most recent trip.

If you’ve ever fallen in love with a high-end piece from an obscure or foreign designer, but haven’t known where to find it, it can most likely be found at SSENSE (www.ssense.com), which sells every high-end and luxury brand you can think of. And they ship internationally!

Because they carry such a huge variety of items, they have a warehouse to store it all, though unfortunately, it’s not accessible to the public. If you want to try on an item, and you’re fortunate enough to be in Montreal, book an appointment and let them know which pieces you want to try. They’ll transport the items to their flagship store in the Old Port of Montreal, where you can try them, on one of the two floors reserved for appointments.

The SSENSE flagship building in the Old Port is an experience: part store and part museum. At the entrance, you’ll be welcomed by someone like the young man in the first photo (love his style!) and a captivating display. I loved the pleated skirt with faux leather straps chosen for the entrance display (such an interesting piece!). They don’t carry much inventory on the 3 floors where they display items. When I was there, the majority of the display was young, trendy, avant-garde brands, primarily streetwear.

All in all - an experience.

How to look chic in summer when it’s super hot out? That’s a question I get asked ALL THE TIME!

Here’s one way! 🤍

Natali () is a Ramat Gan-based cosmetician who loves Jerusalem, especially the Western Wall.

This is such a lovely summer look, and the great part about it is that it’s so easy to reproduce. Find a great, basic dress and top it with a flattering vest. Yes, it’s two layers - but they’re light.

Natali is wearing an simple, classic, midaxi black dress with a cute light gray vest on top. The side slit is a subtly sexy detail, and those Mary Jane shoes are adorable. (Natali swears they’re comfy, too!).

And can I just say how refreshing it is to see someone in something other than sneakers or utilitarian sandals?

She accessorized with a Marc Jacobs tote and big, fabulous Fendi sunglasses.

Would you wear this???

Black 🖤 & white 🤍 & Gucci perfection... as modeled by my good friend, personal stylist Esther (follow her & !).

Esther is all about sustainability and preloved fashion. She’s constantly finding incredible vintage pieces and most of her wardrobe is preloved. She mixes high and low-end pieces in an effortless way. (She’s French - chic comes naturally to her!)

But since (unfortunately) not everyone can be French...
One of the easy-to-follow, basic, idiot-proof style guidelines I teach my clients is:

Black 🖤 + white 🤍 + any other color ♥️🧡💛💚💙💜= always go together.

Breaking down Esther’s Parisian chic version of that:

Black blazer & Chanel sandals 🖤 + white pants & ribbed top 🤍 + gorgeous monogrammed Gucci clutch = perfection

And while her vintage Gucci clutch steals the show, Esther’s adorable Chanel thong sandals get a very honorable mention. (Those teeny interlocking pearl cc’s!!! those stars!⭐️)

Shahar (.agassy) and her hubby were visiting Jerusalem for the day when I met them. Shahar has a business reselling secondhand luxury and high-end clothes & accessories. She got her start in this business as a fashion lover with a growing collection. One day, she was packing up for a move, at which point she realized just quite how many treasures she had accumulated.

She opened .is.studios to sell some of her surplus, and now she travels abroad & brings her incredible finds back to Israel to sell her “vintage and designer gems” (I love that tagline!) at a stall at the Kikar Givon market in Tel Aviv on Fridays.

Her vibe is very Ralph Lauren, aristocratic, old money.
Pop in to say hello, buy something and tell her I sent you!

Shahar herself mixes high & low when she gets dressed. She paired her top and trousers with iconic ballet flats, vintage bag & sunglasses.

I love this look - it’s not necessarily easy to keep clean (hello cream!), but it’s beautiful and restful and looks very elevated.

If you want to learn how to reproduce a style like this in a way that suits YOU, but aren’t quite sure how, keep following me! I’ll be launching my monthly style membership in the near future, and you’re more than welcome to join me! Details to follow soon.

As far as I’m concerned, this red and white gingham-patterned bow is everything! 🎀

I was walking through the park, and the first thing I noticed was that bow!…
And then the fuzzy backpack…
And then the fact that this girl was riding a bike while enjoying a picture-perfect milkshake. (Love that!)

So naturally, I had to photograph her.

Chaya is an artist. She loves art, fashion and everything fashion-related. She’s currently interning at a fashion school while deciding if that’s the career she wants for herself. And her great love of the moment is bows. (Can’t fault her - I love them, too!)

You can have style at the gym, too!

This is Gila , a content creator, headed home after a workout.

When I saw her in the street, I literally didn’t know whether to approach in English, Hebrew or French. (And my French is rusty...) I tried Hebrew first - the right guess, fortunately.

Gila has a unique style that is very much her own. She finds style inspiration from style influencers on IG, and dares to stand out in a crowd of people who are mostly looking to fit in (typical Israeli style culture is about not standing out - tall poppy syndrome-like).

What I loved best about this look?

The scarf tied around her neck. I think probably quite a few of us love the French chic of it and wish we had the courage to do the same, but we just don’t.

What stands out to you?

Paris bistrot vibes! 🇫🇷

Meet Esther, marketing expert, personal stylist, and curator of The Icon Muse. Esther was born and raised in Paris and needless to say, she has perfected Parisian chic.

Esther’s great passion and area of expertise is vintage and sustainable fashion. Since there are already enough clothes in existence to clothe the world’s population for decades (a fact I just learned from her!), she prefers to find unique treasures at secondhand stores, rather than buying new. Her fabulous wardrobe is populated almost solely with secondhand items.

Everything Esther is wearing here is pre-loved, except for the shoes.

I’m totally in love with Esther’s blouse: the soft pink color, the subtle sheen of the fabric, the drape of the balloon sleeves, the gathered elasticated waist. It’s so flattering and so beautiful. But of course I can’t tell you what brand it is because it’s secondhand and someone removed the tag. 😭

Her bag is a versatile timeless vintage Dior from the ‘80s which she purchased on Vestiaire Collective.

For lovers of vintage, sustainable fashion and French chic, you’ll want to follow Esther on IG at and .

When I travelled to Paris last summer, it was obvious to me that I would do a photoshoot there.

I mean... Paris.

(More on why you should do a photoshoot when you travel, and how to do one CHEAPLY here: https://www.prettythingsstyling.com/post/going-on-vacation-why-not-book-a-photoshoot)

I thought it would be HILARIOUS to be photographed wearing a beret and carrying a baguette.

(I don’t just mean funny. I mean the thought of doing this literally made me laugh out loud. I can’t explain it.)

I’d never worn a beret before - I never thought I could pull it off.

But I bought one for the photoshoot... and I loved it.

Life (and style!) lesson?

Try something that intimidates you. You might end up loving it.
