A doorway that has witnessed over 300 years of history.
Captured at the entrance of Shahganj Masjid, Aurangabad — one of the city’s oldest and largest mosques, built in 1720 by the Mughal governor Iwaz Khan.
Nestled within the bustling Shahganj market, this architectural gem blends Mughal elegance with Indo-Saracenic craftsmanship. Behind these weathered green doors lies a grand prayer hall supported by 24 intricately carved pillars, a serene courtyard, and a centuries-old tradition of faith and community.
What caught my eye wasn’t just the architecture, but the quiet presence of a man resting beside the entrance — a reminder that while generations pass, history remains.
