Double Hump Day (see in full screen)

The Photory: The Bactrian camel famously known as the Double hu**ed or Mongolian camel were originally used during the Silk route days. This is why we find them in the high altitude Himalayan regions of Nubra Valley, Ladakh.

Since then they have become an integral part of this region. There are now proposals that the Indian Army will be using these cold desert champions to patrol the tough Himalayan terrains.

Bhairava Tales πŸ™πŸΌ

The Photory:- Shot at the temple tower of Sri Nanya Bhaireshwara, Mudigere. This temple dates back around 1200 years as per local sources. Many know this place as the starting point of the famous Ethina Bhuja trek.

The origin of Bhairava can be traced to a conversation between Brahma and Vishnu which is recounted in the Shiva Mahapuranam. In it, Vishnu inquired to Brahma, "Who is the supreme creator of the Universe?" Arrogantly, Brahma told Vishnu to worship him as Supreme Creator. One day, Brahma thought "I have five heads. Shiva also has five heads. I can do everything that Shiva does and therefore I am Shiva." Brahma became a little egotistical as a result of this. Additionally, he began to forget the work of Shiva and also started interfering in what Shiva was supposed to be doing. Consequently, Shiva threw a small nail from his finger which assumed the form of Kala Bhairava and casually went to cut off one of Brahma's heads. The skull (Kapala) of Brahma is held in the hands of Kala Bhairava, Brahma's ego was destroyed and he became enlightened. From then on, he became useful to himself and to the world, and deeply grateful to Shiva. In the form of the Kala Bhairava.

Namma Nadu, Namma Karnataka πŸ™πŸΌ

The Photory:- When you travel outside the country you realise the real value and importance of staying in . Similarly when someone asks you which state do you live/belong, my heart swells in pride and the prompt answer is Namma Karnataka (One state, many world's)

So while we continue to amass souvenirs from different places that we travel, how often have we thought about something to represent your own home state? I too had this realisation and hence decided on a timeless souvenir (contrary to my statement it shows time) πŸ˜‰

This model is the limited edition from which was sourced by Praveen Tayappa after a big wait. In fact the dial & parts of this watch was available only in the Ajmer HMT unit. So it got assembled there and then shipped to . Hence proving again that while we are many states but one great nation πŸ™πŸΌ

Happy Karnataka Rajyotsava to one and all. Jai Hind!!

Ration.. Pick your ration

The Photory:- Playing with angles and composition always provides a different perspective of the subject. In this shot, what caught my interest was the view of the push-cart from the top. I usually try to avoid cropping an image during post process and hence wanted to get that right angle shot. And this is how it ended...

What's are you thoughts, experiences and views about trying different angles & compositions?

The best journeys in life are those that answer questions you never thought would ask...

A visit to Bhutan is never complete unless you've trekked the Tiger Nest. The first glimpse of Tiger Nest from far away itself is a motivation to the mind, body and soul. After completing this tough trek, the euphoric sense and yet a soothing calmness surrounding this magical location is unexplainable.

Our Bhutanese friend Sonam candidly said 'As you see Taj Mahal in India & wonder... We do the same here after we visit the Tiger Nest'. Some places are better experienced than explained. So we will leave it at that for now...

Look around, coz History is everywhere...

The Photory:-

An architectural marvel build back in the ages of Ramayana and Mahabharata is what welcomes you at Avani. A small town situated at Mulbagal, Kolar (Karnataka). A visit here takes you back into ages and you literally live the experience of what may have been the golden days back then. Heres one such marvellous sculpting done on the roof of the Ramalingeshwara temple sanctum. What's your feeling?
