Akshaya & Anish were beautiful clients to work with from the very beginning. Open and honest in their communication and expectations. There were so many similarities between us outside of the wedding as well - They both wanted to get married at the Indeco Resort in Swamimalai and so did Mira and me. The similarity is that both of us failed handsomely in doing that.

But we did get to shoot a portrait session with them at the resort, that and more, on the blog. :)

First blog of 2020, and one of my favourites from the end of last year. :)

Chanchal & Karthik had a cross-cultural wedding, in that, their wedding was a mix of so many cultures. They are both based out of Malaysia and their wedding was a fusion between a typical Chettinad wedding mixed with the fun of Chinese pre-wedding games. Both of them equally love both sides of their lineage, they enjoy a chicken chettinad as much as they enjoy their mee goreng, and their relationship is one that is built around their mutual love for food. Karthik loves his fishing trips and as you go through the photos, you will learn Chanchal doesn’t particularly enjoy them.

Life felt wholesome for a good 30 seconds when I noticed that Suraj quickly pulled up a photo of him that I shot in 2014 at his wedding to see how a traditional Coorgi groom should look like and accessorize at his brother Sunil's wedding that I shot this October.

I might or might not have gotten way to excited and told this to the entire team I was working with multiple times over the day.

You're probably wondering how I shot a couple portrait session that isn't at one of the beaches of Chennai but the truth is I made them bring their 1949 Morris Minor all the way across town from Anna Nagar to Besant Nagar beach. 😂

This wedding(s) is special in so many ways. The two of the had a maddening day of ceremonies starting at 4 am. They got married twice on the same day, early in the morning in an Arya Samaj ceremony, followed by an evening walk down the aisle at St. Teresa’s church. Add in a reception as well, and you have a day that lasted an era.

Rupak is the romantic one, he surprised her with a ring at their favourite place in Chennai, the beach. Jasmine sometimes can’t understand how he puts up with her. She will tell you that, and she will giggle like a kid.

Shruti & Vishnu are both rockstars! They like to party, and they like to PARTY HARD! We had 5 events or so to cover with a jam packed schedule in the 2 days we were shooting and not once did I see their energy drop. Now that I am writing this, I am realizing that this is also true for their friends and family.

Something Shruti posted on her Instagram right after their wedding has stuck me with, she wrote this for Vishnu and I quote, "My soul knew yours before the beginning.Your soul knew mine before we needed skin to live in. Maybe we’re fallen pieces from the same star.”

1st award ever as a wedding photographer and I am just happy the photo is from Marina of all places. 🤣 Also, this photo is like 4 years old and not really the way I see wedding photography now but nevertheless it is one of my favourite images that I have shot. 🙂 Thank you
