During this Self-Respect Marriage ceremony, there were many discussions and differing opinions as people tried to understand this new way of marriage within their family. In many ways, this marriage wasn’t just about happiness and union, but also about questioning certain beliefs and ideas, and it became a space for dialogue.

This was the first Self-Respect Marriage we got to document. It’s been a year now, and we’re happy to have witnessed and documented this for Swarna & Sujay.

Sayana and Shabesen came down from Norway for their wedding shopping, and they wanted a photoshoot that felt rooted in our culture.

So we spent the morning around a beautiful sunrise through the temples of Kanchipuram, with all the warmth and beauty that comes with summer mornings.

& are huge foodies themselves, so the food across every event was something they genuinely cared about and planned thoughtfully.

We wanted to capture that part of the wedding naturally, people enjoying their meals, families sitting together, friends laughing over dinner, and the happiness that good food always brings to a celebration. 🤍
