A graduate in Food Technology from Delhi University Apoorva Mohan is a highly talented Bharatanatyam dancer , Choreographer and Guru. She has been fortunate enough to have trained
intensively under Kalaimamani guru Smt. Padma Sampath Kumaran . She has also recieved advance training in the same under guru Smt.Kamalini Dutt.
Apoorva imbibes the best of both her gurus.Apoorva has been performing from the age of six years and has performed in numerous stages in India and abroad.Along with a vast experience as a performer as well as a teacher in such a young age she holds a Nritya Bhaskar degree in bharatanatyam from Pracheen Kala Kendra, University of Chandigarh. As a part of her training she has learnt the art of nattuvangam as well under her guru Kalaimamani Padma Sampath Kumaran and has done nattuvangam for various concerts.
Apoorva is a rare combination of a successful performer and a dedicated teacher, whose passion for excellence shines through her commitment to Bharatanatyam. For her, dance is a lot more than just a profession. It is a means to express the inner quest for self realization. capturing the essence of this ancient dance form, preserving the unique beauty of the Pandanallur style, expanding the repertoire through innovation and experiment has become a mission, a passion, a way of life. As a teacher Apoorva established APOORVA NRITYALAYA at Janakpuri, New Delhi in 2008. The aim behind establishing such an institution dedicated towards Bharatanatyam was to have the disciples achieve a high degree of perfection and strong foundation in the art. Ever since its incorporation Apoorva Nrityalaya has been providing holistic training to the children incorporating both practical and theoretical aspects of Bharatanatyam. Apoorva aims to have her disciples achieve a high degree of perfection in their art supported by strong foundation in concepts of talam, layam and Bharatatanatyam dance theory.
