PRITAM SINGH HONOURED FOR EXCEPTIONAL COMMUNITY SERVICE
DIKCHU
In a vibrant celebration marking the Independence Day at the Dikchu Senior Secondary School premises, philanthropist Shri Pritam Singh of Dikchu Zang Ward, 16 Tumin Lingee Constituency was felicitated for his exemplary contributions to public education, youth sports, and community development.
The honour was conferred by the Chief Guest of the celebration, Shri Samdup Tshering Bhutia, Hon’ble Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) and Chief Patron of the Independence Day Celebration Committee, Dikchu.
Transforming Local Education and Youth Sports
Shri Singh was widely lauded for his continuous social service and high-impact infrastructure contributions to the school. Most notably, he spearheaded and funded a state-of-the-art school library, widely recognized as one of the finest reading facilities across all senior secondary institutions in Sikkim, providing students with expansive learning resources.
In addition to the library, Shri Singh constructed a dedicated children’s play room designed to foster early childhood development, creative learning, and recreational space for younger students. His sustained support and funding for local grassroots tournaments, athletic equipment, and youth sports initiatives have further cemented his legacy as a pillar of community upliftment.
The felicitation ceremony took place amidst a large gathering comprising local dignitaries, members of the celebration committee, school faculty, students, and residents from across Dikchu and neighbouring wards. The event concluded with colourful cultural performances and patriotic tributes celebrating the national milestone.
