Old vs New Tax Regime: What should you choose for FY2025-26 ?

Old Tax Regime:

Higher tax slabs

Allows deductions like:
• Section 80C (PPF, ELSS, LIC, etc.) – up to ₹1.5 lakh
• Section 80D (Health insurance)
• HRA, LTA, Home Loan Interest

Ideal for those who claim multiple deductions

New Tax Regime (Default Option):

Lower tax slabs

Fewer deductions, but includes:
• Standard Deduction of ₹75,000 for salaried individuals and pensioners
• Employer contributions to NPS and EPF
