The Last Light, Tosh, Himachal Pradesh | June, 2022.

I sit at the balcony of my homestay to capture the last rays of sunlight falling on the mighty Himalayan mountains standing thousands of miles away from where I stand. I wonder where all we could go and the corners of this planet we could touch by just following the sunlight moving and disappearing out of the portion of the Earth visible to our naked eye. What would it feel like, standing at the last point of the last ray of the light, feeling privileged enough to feel the warmth of the Sun, looking at the vast darkness down below us? Would we feel like God? How could I know? I probably never will. I will pack my camera and my tripod, go back into my room and play my favourite music on my speaker. And this time when I will look out of my window, I will again see the light from the Sun making final efforts to reach us, but now through a newly found friend- the Moon.

From Tosh, Himachal Pradesh | June, 2022

Are all of us made of stardust? They say that almost all of the atoms and elements in our bodies were formed billions of years ago in our galaxy. So maybe it's true. Maybe we are stars. Maybe we are all fallen stars.
It is also true that the stars we see in the sky at night emanated that light thousands of years ago. Yes. The stars you see in the photo are probably 10,000 years old. What happened to them? What would their current status be? Did they survive? Did they die? Or did they explode?
I stand amidst the cold Himalayas, looking at the vast universe above me, part of it aeons old and part of it maybe doesn't even exist anymore.
But I stand there nevertheless. With all my youthful energy. I use my camera, which in itself is made of cosmic dust, to picture this neverending nothingness. We have risen from the abyss to create everything out of nothing.

Maybe it's true. We haven't fallen. We're rising stars.

A dream house in Sonamarg, J&K | Who lives in this house, who knows? Maybe it's just a memory. A feeling. A longing. And standing hundreds of feet away from the house, I can still listen to the echoes of laughter of the people who lived here. Maybe when I return here someday, I will sit with the new inhabitants of the house and like always, they will offer me freshly made Kahwa, and like always, I will not be able to say no to them. And till then, this house will be etched on my memory. Like a feeling. A longing.
