Hello folks!
Its been a long time since I posted something. But now feels like the right time.
I don't know what you guys feel like, but the last couple of months have been too scary for me (No, I'm not talking about my engagement). The well predicted climate change and its effects are finally here on full blow. The flood was catastrophic at home and then came the burning amzon. I haven't done nothing significant, not even planted one single plant in a long long time and posting and crying about the burning forests seemed like hypocrisy and I'm writing this with the same guilt.
I have been sharing a series from bhutan with you guys, so here is something I picked up from there.
There is a belief in the bhutanese culture that the natural elements of the earth: wind, water, rocks, trees, lakes and mountains are the abode of gods and goddesses and spirits and demons. They inhabit these areas and are believed to punish, with death and disease, those who disturb and pollute their domain.
You believe this myth or not, the predicted pay back is coming and our kids are to be born to an earth which is already on fire.
Writing this while I try to cool myself under the a/c the only thing that inspires me is how a small country of the size of calicut is doing things for nature comparing to the entire world. 60 percent of their land is forest. They are frikkin carbon negetive! Their Iifestyle is more or less like this beautiful monastry in the picture. They did not bring down an entire hill to build a building, they added themselves to the nature, fitting perfectly. They have learnt to live WITH the nature unlike us, altering everything according to our suiting, changing the entire topography of the place we inhabit.
I have no idea how the new wave of modernisation going to affect this little nation, but I hope they still have fresh air and clean water unlike our kids.
