We are a bunch of enthusiastic, amateur and mobile photographers based in Mumbai. Since April 2013, we've been meeting frequently and going on PhotoWalks across the city, thanks to a gradual community built on the app - Instagram. We organize these walks on a monthly/fortnightly basis. These are open to all amateurs/professionals using various types of cameras and photography equipment. There's im

mense knowledge sharing about the places we visit as well as the craft itself. The age group has ranged from 15 to 45 in the recent past. :)

Welcome aboard the ‘Crown Jewel of Mumbai-Inside the CSMT Heritage Building’ PhotoWalk. Presented by & .

Take a step into the quiet solitude of the CSMT heritage building, a dramatic contrast from the ever bustling main road just outside.

Pick your preferred date and join us for this unique experience.

What to expect:
Walk through the passages and corridors of an architectural marvel which is the finest creation of the architect F.W. Stevens.

We'll begin the tour at the heritage museum, overflowing with railway relics from the days gone by. Next, we amble through the front garden to marvel at the collection of architectural features that dot the building, each one bearing its own significance and story. We then move to the pièce de résistance of the tour, the Staircase and the majestic Grand Dome.

We finally end the tour in the gallery overlooking the Star Chamber, more commonly known as the local ticket counter, as we soak in the hustle bustle of the movement on the platforms.

These photos highlight the city's various facets and showcase the talent of photographers, hobbyists and amateurs who have been core members of Mumbai Instagrammers since 2013; as well as loyal followers who contribute regularly to the Instagram feed and Stories.
These include photos clicked at our 2023 PhotoWalks, which were led by Meghna.

About the Featured Photographer - Keenan Pereira aka :
Keenan is a Bombay based photographer and dive professional. Having ancestral roots in the heart of the city, He has been witnessing the development of the spaces around him.
Growing up, I realized that our childhood was really different from the times we see around us now.
Alot of my recent documentations have been to showcase the space around me for what it is and not something it's being sold to be.
My work in the past few months has been on photographic film, not as an experiment but as a medium of timelessness and has helped shape my perspective.

About the Photos:
If I could describe my images in a sentence, I would say my work is a reflection of all the calm I see within the chaos we live in.

Curator's Note - Meghna Girohtra :
I first met Keenan in 2013/14 and realised then itself that his initial first into photography was on a robust base.
His images are largely evocative and I chose these two monochrome images that are fairly nuanced.
