Ahead lies a lonely road
This image was captured some time ago and since then I never wanted to post it without a caption. Not just any caption, the caption that will kind of reflect what that kid was going through! Now, I'm not a stranger to writing something that emotes sadness, but ironically, in this case, that kid was displaying more happiness than one could imagine.
For him, a ride on Marie Go Round, even a lonesome one, was fun. He believed he became one with the wind, going round and round and bear witnessing everything around him, without having a single wish to stop - a passenger of life, some might call it.
The question I could never stop asking was - How could he? How could he smile? Was my camera, like many in this world, the reason behind the smile, was it just a paparazzi moment for him? A fancy display of the best he got in front of the lens? I don't know. My questions were later answered through his WhatsApp stories, yes we did exchange numbers, reconfirming his reasonless happiness!
I think most of our life we try to grip on happiness or the source of that happiness - could be a person, could be a thing, could be a film! Sink our nails in it, as deep as we can, even with the short trimmed ones! What might seem to the world as an act of violence was nothing but a mere attempt to hold on to something that we just couldn't let go! He told me it's okay to be a passenger of life! It's somehow like watching films, and why would anyone ever say no to it? even if it's a lonely road ahead!
