2026 is already shaping up beautifully as I finally get to explore the darkest sites of Chhattisgarh. locations I had mapped out years ago. It’s one of the rare places in Central India where skies can reach near Bortle 2 zone, offering truly pristine conditions. All shots were captured using my Sony astro-modified A7III, generously gifted by Vikas Chander. wanted to capture this particular frame of rho ophiuchi cloud complex. this just 2hr 48 min of data. will more in future.

Recently i bought the official copy of Pixnsight and this image is processed in pixinsight plus little bit of retouching in photoshop.

"When you truly understand your gear, you can create magic. Hard to believe, but this stunning shot was captured with an astro-modded Nikon D7500 — a crop sensor body! It's a single 70-second tracked panorama of the Orion-Cygnus Arm. The level of nebulosity here makes it absolutely worth the effort. Feel free to share if you like it!"

| Astro Outing with Nilesh Kumar Kshirsagar, Collector of Kanker |

I wanted to explore the possibility of an astrophotography shoot around Dudhawa Dam. hence decided to go far backside of the dam. Unfortunately, the night sky was heavily affected by the floodlights from the dam. Nonetheless, the highlight of the evening was the presence of Mr. Nilesh Kumar Kshirsagar, Collector of Kanker, who graciously accepted our short-notice invitation and made the outing truly memorable. He brought along his Celestron NexStar 8SE telescope, enhancing our experience under the stars. Special thanks to Dheeraj Katara for coordinating this event.

The first Milky Way shot of 2025, captured during the third quarter moon phase at Patora Dam, Odisha. Initially, we searched for a clear spot on the west side of the dam but couldn’t find one. Eventually, we had to set up our gear near the pump house, where bright lights were illuminating the area. Despite the moonlight and artificial glow, the Milky Way remained visible.

Milkyway over Chitrakote waterfall

It’s a single, fleeting capture — a battle between light and shadow. The hazy night sky and glaring floodlights tried to steal the moment, yet the Milky Way whispered through. I leaned on the "shoot to the right" technique, overexposing deliberately, nudging the histogram toward the light, coaxing the galaxy’s faint glow to reveal itself against the odds.
