Twenty years of laughter, tears, growth. In love as ever. The smile lines aren’t the only physical proof. Observing their love was truly memorable and an honor to witness.

They wanted an experience that felt immersive, with a good natural flow to the day, and to avoid overly crowded or rushed experiences. They were less focused on “must-see” locations and more interested in having an authentic experience.

A full-day experience in the Icelandic highlands felt like the perfect choice for them. We started at their private cabin on the South Coast and embarked on our journey crossing glacial rivers, hiked to one of the most beautiful views in the country where they said their vows, picked wild blueberries, and explored a glacial tongue and secret canyon.

Erla Sigurlaug Sigurdardottir was their incredible celebrant and our private driver. It was so lovely to have her with us the whole day. Takk fyrir okkur ✨

I’ve been incredibly fortunate this wedding season to travel all around Iceland, the country I live in and admire every corner of, documenting so many love stories.

Every single story I am welcomed into and trusted with claims a little piece of my heart. It’s hard for me to articulate the gratitude I feel each time I get to experience your love right in front of me, and having you allow me to show that love back to you in the way I see it and often times, feel it, deep in my soul.

Something about me is that I value human connection so much and need it to thrive in my life and in my art. When you stand in front of me and my camera, you’ve now made a new friend. You’re not a transaction for me or just some client. I want to know you, understand you, and pour your love right back into you.

The hardest part about my job is having the privilege to share your most personal & intimate moments, and then have to part ways so soon. That’s why I generally try to stay connected with the couples I’ve worked with for as long as time allows. So if you don’t want your photographer to be your new bestie, I’m probably not your girl 🖤

This bridal session in the Eastfjords was one of those special days. The chemistry between Lilja and Jón beamed as strong as the sun that day and the way we all instantly connected made this feel like anything but work. Shoutout to these two and how awesome they are. Takk kærlega fyrir daginn.

And yes. You can wear black for your wedding photos. There are NO RULES

Cerys + John elopement in East Iceland 🤍 what I love about these two and this location is they knew exactly where they wanted to say their vows - on their first trip to Iceland they stumbled upon this remote waterfall in the east, set in the backdrop of the mountains that I love oh so dearly (everything is more rugged out here, more raw)

With zero other people around, they frolicked in the mountain side, took off their shoes, walked behind their waterfall and said their vows on a beautiful summer evening ⛰︎ ོ
