A few photos from skiing in Greenland. These were shot over a week spent aboard the MV Balto with . We spent our time exploring fjords and climbing glaciated mountains up the west coast with a fit crew that definitely kept me on my toes. Thanks for a great time in a beautiful part of the world!

Happy World Penguin day! These quirky little birds quickly captured my heart this year. We celebrate them today, since it marks the Adélie penguin’s start of their northern migration. While they may not fly, they make up for it with amazing skills in the water, and the cutest waddle I’ve ever seen on land!

(Yes I know most of these photos and videos here are of Gentoo and Chinstrap penguins, but they’re also cute and I couldn’t find a good Adélie photo on my phone while I’m in Greenland)

A few frames from my 14th season with . This season had its challenges with unpredictable weather, but along the way there were some great moments with new and old friends spending time together in the mountains. Now it’s time for a few weeks around home before I’m off on another adventure. Any guesses where to next?

It’s been one year since we lost J, Jeff and Alex. I think about J a lot, especially when I’m in the mountains as he was a mentor early on in my career. I miss you J ❤️

Happy Valentine’s Day to my forever valentine, ! You’re my best friend, my adventure buddy, and I’m so happy now call you my wife!

These photos were taken on our wedding day at the famous Reynisfjara beach in southern Iceland. Recent weather has brought huge change to Reynisfjara, with much of the beach eroded away leaving the famous basalt columns and caves inaccessible. The environment is constantly changing, and this is a stark reminder of how a photo can capture a moment in time forever. I look forward to returning some day with my love to see this new version of Reynisfjara. Happy love day everyone!

Penguins! Today is and after having the pleasure of spending 11 days with these quirky little birds, I’d be lying if I said they didn’t absolutely steal my heart. It was amazing watching them go about their day, catching fish, raising their chicks and waddling (and sliding!) around.

Antarctica was absolutely incredible, especially the wildlife. With very limited human interference, the wildlife thrives down there. It makes me wonder what it was like around home before we built highways and towns, and flooded valleys in the name of progress.

I hope you all enjoy a selection of my favourite penguin photos!

December 26, 2004 my poppa suddenly passed away while skiing at Red Mountain. He had grown up in Rossland, helped build the ski lift and absolutely loved to ski. That love passed on to me, and somehow I’ve made a career out skiing powder and taking photographs. Skis (and snowboards) have given me so much over the years, but it’s been quite a while since I’ve packed up the ski bag and gone to a foreign land to slide around on snow. Living in the BC Interior I’ve been spoiled with epic skiing so it’s easy to stay home and just enjoy the privilege of growing up in this area. That said, there’s something really great about exploring a new place on skis.

It’s been a whirlwind of booking last minute flights and double checking very extensive gear lists, but finally I’m sitting on an airplane headed somewhere I’ve never been before, for hopefully the adventure of a lifetime.

Thanks to my wife, and my family for all the love and support dealing with the crazy logistics of living in a rural center and travelling half way around the world during the holidays.

Any guesses where I’m headed?

First photo by the very talented from an adventure a lifetime ago in the Westfjords of Iceland.

Well, 2025 has been quite the year. From deep loss to the happiest day of my life, this year has been full of extreme emotions. Here’s a few photos from way back on August 5th when I had the happiest day of my life marrying my best friend in the pouring rain in Iceland.

We said our vows up above the stunning Skogafoss waterfall, then spent time at Reynisfjara exploring the basalt columns and black sand beach (where we shared our first dance) before heading to Solheimjokull to visit the glacier just before dark. The moody weather was just perfect, as was Lindsay. 🖤

I don’t know why it’s taken so long to share these photos. I’ve been in my head a lot about social media and photography lately. After losing some good friends and also facing my own mortality I’ve been focused on other aspects of life than posting little squares on the internet. I also turned 40 and have been taking some time to process that. But, I’ve realized this platform has facilitated a lot of amazing connections so I hope to make improvements in 2026.

So, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones! May the year ahead be filled with love, connection and growth. 🖤
