Fabio Sozza

Fabio Sozza My Photography My name is Fabio, and I’m an English teacher based in Italy. I have been in love with photography since I was a child.

Today, it has become my greatest passion: I see it as something that lies on the threshold between the physical world and the emotions and feelings it is able to generate in us; something that has the power to transform a memory, a non-physical entity, into an actual object. I find it a magical process, a precious ritual.

For today I thought I could share all the stuff that went kinda wrong on film in the past couple years. The mountain scape shots happened because of a funny mistake: some EOS cameras have this function because of which the camera will leave the film leader outside of the cartridge after you’re done shooting it. My camera had that on, at the time. So when I finished a roll, I pulled it out of the camera, put into its cartridge, then pulled out a new cartridge from my bag. I found myself at some point with a new cartridge in one hand and a cartridge containing the exposed roll in another. Of course my ADHD made sure it erased any information from memory as to which was which. I tried inspecting them closely lol, but I really couldn’t tell. So I thought OK I have a 50% chance I’m getting it right. So I chose one and loaded it. And yeah, I it was the exposed one obviously. So I exposed a roll twice and the other one came back from the lab completely blank 😅
Turns out this created some impossible mountain scapes I actually kinda like ⛰️📸
