I'm having such a blast (no pun intended) with VC Boba Fett's Throne Room just imagining all the stories one could throw inside this little set!

For this picture I surely got inspired by Carlo V.'s amazing photos, creating an alternative “The Book of Boba Fett” confrontation between Boba and Bib, in which Bom Vimdin helps our Mandalorian friend taking control of what once was Jabba's Palace.

Also, this is the first time I'm experimenting with this carousel in new ways. You need to swipe left to see the full picture, and if you keep going that way I'll show you some Behind the Scenes pics ⬅️📸

Season 3 of “The Mandalorian” is one of my most anticipated shows of 2023, and one of the reasons is the heavy focus on the Mandalorian culture we are going to have. In Season 1 and 2 there were lots of references and connections, but what's ahead is 100% Mandalorian culture, guaranteed. We are going to see Mandalore for sure, plus new tribes, different cults and creeds maybe… 👀

I imagined the Mandalorians we all came to know across different medias/shows could be together against the Empire, waiting for the enemy's next move in a sequence set inside an Imperial control outpost on Mandalore. There's something sinister lurking in the shadows of the mines, across the Living Waters… something awakened by the Empire?

⬅️ SWIPE LEFT ⬅️ to see the special issue of Empire Magazine I imagined would be using this picture to promote the third season of “The Mandalorian”. All effects, diorama and elements are practical 📸

Last summer, while tidying up the garage, I found this Opee Sea Killer among my old toys and I immediately thought I'd bring it back to life with just a little paint here and there and a bit of gloss varnish on the eyes. When I had the final result in my hands I wanted to take some pictures of it, but unfortunately it didn't scale well with none of my figures. I shelved it and decided to wait for the right idea to pop up in my mind.

It suddenly came when I thought of minifigures and vehicles. I found the Altaya Gungan bongo submarine at a local newsstand and bought it in a blink of an eye, came back home, put up a very simple diorama and… here we go! 📸

Five years have passed since “The Last Jedi” debuted in cinemas and I still want to see this sequence on Ahch-To sooo bad. I remember that about a year before the release Jason Ward had teased a part of the movie (presumably in the second act) where the Knights of Ren, of course led by Kylo, showed up on Ahch-To during a heavy rainstorm and fought with Luke and Rey. I'm not so sure if this sequence was ever filmed, edited in the Luke vs Rey fight or if it didn't exist at all and the leaker totally imagined it seeing pictures of the set taken from afar. But it surely struck my imagination and I wanted to see it so bad that now I decided to recreate it with action figures 🎥

Of course, the sequence is set on Ahch-To during one of the many thunderstorms the planet offers. Kylo and his dark side warriors have come in the small village to engage Luke and the Jedi scavenger in a fight and hopefully kill them both, extinguishing hope's flame in the Galaxy once and for all ❌

As you know and see, I'm mostly a Star Wars The Black Series collector, but when I decided to pre-order The Vintage Collection Boba Fett’s Throne Room I HAD to buy this amazing 3.75” Boba Fett from “The Book of Boba Fett”! 💥

It's incredibly detailed, well-proportioned and excellently articulated – even more than its 6” counterpart!

Easter egg visual guide: this one is a really simple shot, assembled using the Nevarro Cantina playset from “The Mandalorian”. In the background, you can see an Advozse and a Nikto, while in the foreground a Jawa and a RA-7 protocol droid are spotted at the door of the bar. The caption is an homage to Breaking Bad's 2x10 episode, “Over”.

Hero's Journey: Final Act 🌧️
▫️
▫️
▫️
Easter eggs visual guide: the scene is set on Ahch-To, few minutes after the rainy fight between Rey and Luke seen in Rian Johnson's “The Last Jedi”. Rey is leaving on the Falcon – you can see the ship flying away in the night sky – while Luke is about to go burning down the sacred Jedi texts. In his right hand, you can see Leia's lightsaber. He's going to take it back in the hut, where it will wait for its next owner… if you look closer in the backpack, you will see Luke's macrobinoculars from his farmboy days, a sealed jug of Roe-Save and the Jedi star compass first seen in “Star Wars Battlefront II” 🧭

To create this Deluxe S. H. Figuarts Luke Skywalker (The Last Jedi) I added several accessories coming from three different Black Series figures (swipe to the third picture to see the little Accessories Visual Guide I made ⬅️). The final result may not be 100% screen accurate but I think it gets the closest possible to what was shown in the movie 🎥

The whole diorama has been crafted and painted by me, visual FX and lights are all practical except for the rain (which amounts to over 25 layers) and the tiny, added-in-post Millennium Falcon rocketing away 📸

“I burn my life, to make a sunrise that I know I’ll never see” – Luthen Rael 🔥

▫️
Obviously the “Rogue One” operational core is, eventually, the sunrise Luthen will never see. Everything in Andor is building up to that final mission, so when I heard Stellan Skarsgård giving that tremendous monologue at the end of Episode 10, chills took over my body and made me see that movie under a new light 🎥

Easter eggs visual guide: the picture is based on the promotional one we got before “Rogue One”, with the main actors (Diego Luna, Felicity Jones, Donnie Yen, Riz Ahmed and Jiang Wen) staring at you and teasing the revolution we got six years ago with the “A Star Wars Story” movies (unfortunately, just two… I hope they're going to make more sooner or later). Behind the squad, a Rebel technician is repairing something in the left laser cannon, while a coworker is retrieving Chopper (that droid is always up to its old tricks!).
On the right crates you can see a DT-57 "Annihilator" blaster and a pair of macrobinoculars. Next to them, there's a black and gold Rebel flight helmet that decades later will be worn by Han Solo's daughter, Jaina.

The main diorama is the scaffolding built outside my bedroom (I'll show it to you in the BtS reel), the elements like crates & other stuff were 3D printed by various sources, and then handpainted. Lighting by Lume Cube 📸

Easter egg visual guide: as a huge comic books fan, when I saw this Erik M. Gist artwork for the “Star Wars” regular series (issue n. 28 – “The Calculus of Loss”, you can see it if you swipe left ◀️) I couldn't resist recreating it with my action figures (the Tamashii Nations USA S. H. Figuarts Luke Skywalker head is actually courtesy of Arturo Luciani 😂✌️). As usual, I didn't replicate the picture in every detail, but I rather looked for a similar atmosphere, imagining there was the Imperial siren wailing in the background 🚨

Set in an enemy base on Coruscant, the story deals with a mission to rescue the Crimson Dawn agents before the Empire gets their hands on them. Seeing Luke with this officer suit immediately reminded me of one of the first “Rogue One” teasers, with Jyn Erso in Imperial disguise and Saw Gerrera's catchphrase--“What will you become?”. I love seeing Rebel characters in Imperial outfits, it looks as if their evil, rotten nature has finally seduced them… but at the same time you know it's just a fascinating illusion ✨

I made this custom using an Archive Tarkin body and the red lightsaber from Archive Darth Revan. Diorama was partially 3D printed by Joe Rau and partially from other files found on Thingiverse. Lighting by Lume Cube 📸

One more picture taken in the steel scaffolding built around my apartment, but this time I wanted to focus on darker tones, with this sort of “waiting” atmosphere suggested by the lighting, the lens (a 35 mm that allows to focus on the Fifth Brother and the emotions he's emanating) and the stormtroopers taking a break during one of their Jedi-hunting rounds.

➡️ In the second pic you can see the camera moving slowly towards the Inquisitor, with a lower angle, as if the scene was filmed using a dolly doing a sequence plan.

I'm finally back guys! After a long hiatus from this platform I'm glad I found inspiration for some new stuff “in the most unlikely way imaginable”!

Weeks ago, a steel scaffolding was installed on the building I live in, in order to work on the periodical maintenance. Unfortunately this means having less light in my bedroom and my house in general, but also… a new playground, who'd have thought it? 🎮

While I was walking in the balcony I noticed how perfectly the steel scaffolding would work as a 1:12 metal corridor, an hangar, a rusty but futuristic diorama. As soon as I framed the angle for the pictures in my mind, I went taking some of my almost never-used figures to try shooting my “comeback shot”. It's cool when you just find inspiration in a snap of fingers! 🤏💢 Especially if this happens after months focused on other stuff 📚

Now I hope everyone of you is well and safe, I'm sure we'll have a lot to share together in the upcoming weeks! 🤞 Cheers everyone 🍻

Easter egg visual guide: you guys know how much love this sequence from “The Book of Boba Fett”, but you still don't know how much I love this new Tamashii Nations USA S. H. Figuarts Luke Skywalker from “The Mandalorian” Season 2. As The Fwoosh already pointed out, it's actually more of a “Return of the Jedi” Luke, but anyways the likeness to Mark Hamill is ASTOUNDING! 🥺

Since I missed the pre-order, my friend Arturo Luciani sent me his figure to take a couple of pictures… after all, that's what friends are for! 😃✌️

As many of you know, I don't like taking always the same picture, with the same poses, and I'm not a huge fan of recreating shots in general–usually I aim at something more original, something you'd never see in a film or a show and you can see in my gallery in “kinda” live action… but this time I couldn't resist recreating once again a shot from “The Book of Boba Fett” 6th episode. Instead of doing exactly that same picture, I went for the next thing happening: Luke unsheathing Yoda's lightsaber in front of Grogu 🟢

Diorama entirely crafted and painted by me using Acrylicos Vallejo. Lighting by Lume Cube, aerosol effect by Atmosphere Aerosol 📸
