Dear all, you know me as astrophotographer and telescope user and followed me for more than 15 years, while sharing astroimages of the Sky.
During this time , I have been looking to get the sharpest possible image.
Challenging the limits of commercial products, I decided long ago to start a project to reach the ideal optical perfection in a telescope, building my own optics.
Year by year, trial by trial, I developed the know how to manufacture high quality parabolic mirrors.
Initially of small size, I gradually completed projects up to 500mm diameter, and fast as much as F3.5.
The making of such parts is a a process between science and art: starting from a blank plate of high quality glass, and gradually grinding and polishing the plate to the final surface, I faced all the challenges of this technology.
In order to reach a perfect optical glass surface, it is fondamental to be able to measure and control It with a precision of 10 nanometers, a scale close to the size of a virus particle!
Interferometry is a test method that allows to reach such a incredible precision, as well providing numerical measurement of the optics quality.
I have accordingly built a workstation based on a special lathe, and provided my laboratory with the proper testing accessories.
I have fine tuned a complete procedure to machine parabolic telescope mirrors from blank plates, and I am now ready to build parts at request of amateurs and observatories looking for top quality telescope parabolic mirror.
I can also provide a testing service to characterize and measure the quality of existing telescope optics and provide an enhancement service to upgrade them to 0.95 Strehl.
I have published a new version of my web site , please feel free to browse it and contact me for further informations.
This Web site is my platform for presenting my Reflector optics manufacturing experience as well astrophotography practice. After many years of telescope observation and astronomy photograpy, I have been working in my lab and progressivley built an in-house know how about parabolic mirror
