U.S. Navy Commander Kai “Wise Kai” Siegele flew his last flight with VAW-125 and handed over command to CDR Daniel “TOOF” Yates on April 3, 2025.

I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to photograph this family on multiple occasions over the years. From newborn photos, to frolicking through the lotus fields with the kids, to a long awaited homecoming, to now this wonderful achievement. Good luck in your next chapter Siegeles!! Gonna miss you guys!!

one of the things I love most about japan is how each season is celebrated through flowers — cherry blossoms, azaleas, tulips, wisteria, irises, hydrangeas, etc. before moving here, I never paid much attention to when the flowers bloomed. but now, I understand the anticipation, the festivals, the fleeting moment. it’s a reminder to slow down and savor what won’t last forever. 🫶🏻

I think my fav is the whole yochien class wearing pink hats to the park 🥹

we spent our last ski trip of the season in a place we’ve never been and got to mark some things off our bucket list. nozawa is such a sweet little ski town — everything you could possibly need within walking distance & free hot springs! ♨️
