A very controversial post:

I’ve been thinking a lot about the recent conversation surrounding children’s photos online and privacy. Here is my take: Nothing will change on how I operate my business.

I completely support families who choose to keep their children’s photos off social media, and I will never make a family feel like they need to share their children’s images online just because they hired me as their photographer.

Client privacy has always been extremely important to me. Even when a client signs my contract giving me permission to use their images, I still ask them directly before posting.

At the same time, I’m not a fan of creating fear or shaming parents who do choose to share their children’s photos.

We live in an era where children are already exposed to technology and cameras in so many ways (schools, sports, public spaces and etc). and many are given smartphones and access to social media at very young ages, sometimes with no parental oversight.
Even private social media accounts don’t guarantee that an image will never be shared beyond its intended audience.

So, to me, the answer isn’t simply “Stop posting pictures of kids.”

I think we need a much bigger conversation about AI, how images are collected and used, the technology being developed, and how we protect children in a world where technology is advancing faster than we can keep up.

That doesn’t mean we should live in fear. It means we should be informed and mindful.

And as a photographer, I will always respect both sides.

If you want your family’s photos kept completely private, I’m here for that ( I do that all the time). If you’re comfortable with me sharing them, I’m here for that too.
My job is to capture beautiful memories—not to judge anyone’s choice about whether they choose to share those memories online or keep them private. ❤️

Your family. Your photos. Your choice. 💕

There are sessions I photograph that I keep private for the longest time simply because they are truly special to me. ❤️

My very first maternity session, five years ago, was in a sunflower field, so sunflowers have always held a special place in my heart.

This sweet mama and her three beautiful girls were absolute troopers as we captured these memories on one of the hottest days of the year. In return, we were gifted with the most beautiful sky, gorgeous flowers, and memories that will last a lifetime. 🌻☀️💛

Some of my favorite sessions are the ones that let families simply slow down, explore, and enjoy being together.

These past few weeks have been filled with some of beautiful newborn sessions — welcoming newborns alongside families who have waited so long for this moment. For many military families here in Sasebo, deployments meant missing precious early milestones. These photos exist so that no memory gets left behind.

If you’re expecting, this is the time to start planning on your newborn session. I’d love to capture this season for you. 🌸

🎓 Finishing grad season with the beautiful J.

Veteran, mil spouse, mama, temporary solo parent, and now a proud graduate with a Master’s in Psychology.

It was such a joy to capture this special milestone at such a beautiful location.

Congratulations to J and all the Class of 2026 graduates! No matter when you earned your degree, the most important thing is that you never gave up. ✨

Congratulations to the EJ King Sasebo Class of 2026!

We are incredibly proud of you. Our school may be small, but it is truly something special.

As they begin their next chapter, some will head off to college, some will serve in the military, and others will enter the workforce. No matter which path they choose, they leave EJ King with so much to offer the world.

This young man, who I’m proud to call my neighbor, has an incredible family that has supported him every step of the way to help him achieve his goals. Their love and encouragement, combined with his own determination and hard work have led to some remarkable accomplishments, including earning a prestigious scholarship.

I have no doubt that he is destined for great things, and I can’t wait to see where his journey takes him next. 💙

Five years ago, at the start of hydrangea season in Yokosuka, I worked up the courage to ask a few people to model for me. I had this feeling I couldn’t shake—the desire to start a photography business.

I had no idea what I was doing. I didn’t have a business plan or experience. What I did have was a camera, a lot of passion, and a willingness to try.

That day, I captured some beautiful memories and went home telling my husband, “I think I really love being behind the camera.”

Five years later, so much has changed. My style has evolved, my skills have improved, and I’ve learned more lessons than I can count. I’ll never claim to be the best—art is far too personal and subjective for that and there is tons of room to grow. But what I can say with certainty is that I still love being behind the camera.

I still get butterflies before sessions. I still get emotional while I’m shooting and while I’m editing. And I still feel incredibly grateful every time someone trusts me to capture a piece of their story.

Five years ago, it started with a leap of faith during hydrangea season. Today, I get to do something I genuinely love, and that is not something I take for granted.

Thank you to every person who has invited me into their lives over the past five years. Thank you for trusting me with your memories, your milestones, and your legacy. 💕

I know everyone gets excited for Sakura season, but for me, hydrangea season is the one that truly makes my heart skip a beat. Maybe it’s because they were my wedding flowers, or maybe it’s because Japan’s hydrangeas feel like something straight out of a Studio Ghibli movie. Either way, it’s such a beautiful time to capture sweet memories. 💕

A first look at Sakura season 2026 🌸

One of the most stunning mamas-to-be I’ve ever photographed. Not only did she look absolutely beautiful, but her smile could light up any room.

This season was truly something special. The blossoms were beautiful, but my clients completely stole the show. Every session was filled with love and laughter—and honestly, that’s exactly what I needed in this season of life.

I can’t wait to share everything we created together 🤍
