Chapter 4 of 12.
There’s something about looking back that makes you realize how fast it all moved. In the moment the days felt long.
Then you gather up all the little pieces and a whole month has passed.
I keep coming back to gratitude for the people who make presence feel natural. Who don’t pull you out of the moment but help you sink deeper into it.
April was full. Full of the right people, the right moments, the kind of joy that doesn’t need to be announced.
Grateful it looked like this.

We’re taught to chase happiness like it’s a destination.
A milestone.
A version of life that finally arrives once everything is figured out.

But happiness is conditional.
It depends on outcomes.
On timelines.
On things going a certain way.

Joy is different.

Joy lives in the present.
In how you show up to your life as it is.
In the small moments you stop rushing through.
In the breath you didn’t skip.
In the conversation you stayed present for.
In choosing to be here instead of always reaching for what’s next.

Joy doesn’t ask you to become someone else.
It asks you to stay with yourself.

And maybe that’s the shift this season is inviting—
not more striving,
not more promises to a future version of you,
but a deeper relationship with the life you’re already living.

Because when you stop chasing happiness,
you start noticing the joy that’s been quietly waiting for you all along.

Right here.
Right now.

Thank you, 2025.

Thank you for reminding me that life doesn’t need to be rushed to be meaningful.

That joy shows up when you stop checking the clock.
That the best memories are usually the ones you never planned for.

Thank you for letting me become a better ninong, uncle, friend, coach—and a more grounded version of myself.

For reminding me that growth doesn’t always feel intense or heavy.
Sometimes it feels like peace.

Sometimes it feels like being present instead of trying to optimize the moment.

I’m closing this year more grateful, more connected, and clearer about what actually matters.

Thank you for the memories, the lessons, and the laughs.

Someone recently told me they were “in transition.”
New job. New relationship. New city.
Trying to adjust — trying to keep up.

And I could feel it — that quiet, disoriented space
where nothing feels stable,
but deep down, you know something is shifting for the better.

The truth is, transitions aren’t meant to be neat.
They’re meant to stretch you, soften you,
and teach you to trust the unknown.

Every version of growth begins in that awkward, tender space
where clarity hasn’t fully landed.

You’re not behind.
You’re just becoming.

↳ Save this for when life feels uncertain —
because maybe uncertainty is the universe’s way of saying,
“keep going, you’re on the right path.”

The darkness that follows a sunset is never so dark that it can change the inevitability of a sunrise.

Mid-Year Update:
- I've been stateside for about 4 months now
- Still transitioning to American culture
- I heavily miss Asia & living in Japan
- I sold my camera (I'll have a new one by next year)
- Completed an intense 12 week Academy fellowship/internship
- & I'll be starting the next chapter of my life in SF soon.

Forever grateful for all the love and support received from my friends and family.

If you are in a beautiful place where you can enjoy the sunrise and sunset, then you are truly living life.

I know I’ve been MIA. Needed a break and going through a huge transition with my personal life right now. I miss Japan and Vietnam 😭😭😭

I’ll be back. Just need to take a short break for a bit. Thank you all for the support!

The eyes are one of the most powerful tools a woman can have. With one look, she can relay the most intimate message. After the connection is made, words cease to exist.

I have learned that as long as we hold fast to our own beliefs and values - and follow our own moral compass - then the only expectations we need to live up to are our own.
