Thinking we might not ever have you, thinking just how close we came to losing you when we finally did.. To be a mother is a privilege and to be yours is nothing short of a miracle. Happy mother's day to every goddess who has brought life into this world, to those who did it a long way from family, to the ones who do it all without a village, for the confusing firsts and the challenges overcome with the world placed at your breast for the very first time, the countless hours waking in tune with the teeny extension of yourself or between sacred naps from newfound mama paranoia where your mind wanders into new and uncontrollable territory, to every single superwoman who turns surviving into thriving. Motherhood is far from easy, it is almost never smooth sailing, but to be a mother is to be ethereal - Mama, today and every day is a reminder that you are the life force of the world as we know it and the grandmother of the future we have yet to see.
