Whimsy Threads I grew up learning needle work from my mum and grandmother. My love remain in hand quilting, hand appliqué and embroidery.

Started quilting much later in life, adapted all styles of quilting and now an Accredited Quilt Teacher from South Africa.

“The Magical Kenya”

This colorful collection of quilts was created by members of the Kenya Quilt Guild. The joy, diversity and soul of Kenya shines through this collection - Kenya has a rich history filled with cross cultural stories, diverse flora and fauna, and famed wild spaces. Look for the common thread - the Guild members each used a piece of batik green fabric as a way to create a connection.

This is one of many group challenges the Kenya Quilt Guild has participated in, with quilts traveling all over the world. After Sew Awareness 2026 The 23rd South African National Quilt Festival at South Africa, the Quilts will return to Kenya for mini exhibitions in several art galleries and retail shops, helping to spread the color and love of our magical Kenya 🇰🇪

2nd class in the mini series of quilting techniques, Needle-turn appliqué. It can be used for embellishing or visible mending. It has been a fantastic class with the coolest most relaxed group of people. Looking forward to the next chapter. Coming soon.
